Gwen Russell, as a professional writer, should be ashamed of this book. It seems to have been thrown together in a few days from newspaper and magazine articles. It is very badly written, continuously repeats a few points and leaves one with the feeling of skating over a thin veneer of a rich subject. There is little structure to the book, other than a rough chronology, with no real attempt to examine its topic. Not accurate, not literate. Don't waste your time or money.
Boring, repetitive, badly written.
A pity since Clarkson is a very interesting person, if he writes an autobiography I'll read it but I can't recommend this rubbish.
