Wonderful first atlas, great detail in the maps, in addition to information on each country/region. I would like for them to add a map of each continent at the beginning of each section that shows all of the regions mentioned in the section together, in addition to the maps shown of the regions broken down. I use the atlas in combination with a globe so that my children can see where the region we are covering fits into the continent as a whole. (For example, France, Lowlands, etc. of Europe is ...more

DK books are things of beauty. This is a really lovely atlas. Paul only sort of gets the ideas of maps. He identifies most land masses as "umurca" but there are lots of interesting animal, plant, and people pictures to pick through.
