Excellent examination of the events in late January to early February of 1951 in which Gen. Ridgeway commanded the United Nations Forces to take a stand against the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army. This book focuses on the ambush and following battle at the Twin Tunnels and the siege of Chipyong-ni as well as it's relief by Task Force Crombez. While heavily relying on Gugeler's Combat Actions in Korea and Appelman's works, Hamburger fills in the gaps and provides good insights into the leadershi ...more
