Twelve lessons explore how the same men who doubted in Galilee, argued in Capernaum, and ran for their lives in Gethsemane are transformed by the resurrected King in the book of Acts. With scripture reading, inspirational readings, questions to answer, space for journaling, and a prayer, it's like studying the Bible with Max Lucado.

This is short (twelve lesson) study of the New Testament book of the Acts of the Apostles. Each lesson begins with a reflection and a description of the situation in the reading. Then the reading follows in both the New Century Version and the New King James Version. I had never read the New Century Version before and discovered it is a very easy read.Pastor Lucado asks a series of questions about the reading, points out some life lessons, and includes a short devotional from one of his other bo ...more
This study guide on the Book of Acts is excellent. It could use a lot more exploration, and often the Lucado quotes are excerpts from other books he has written. Nevertheless, the overall content of Acts is so powerful and the points he makes are very solid, it is worth the read and the contemplation and study that goes with it. A big part of the book is the reading of two different translations of the Book.
I used this book to do a series of studies in a mens small group I used to belong to. From it, I created individual handouts for all group participants.

An excellent way to explore this particular book of the Bible, and great for both small group and individual study.
