I've been a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog since before I could count, and let me tell you, few things from the 90's era hedgehog have ever let me down. He starred in one spectacular cartoon show, and one Looney Tunes inspired disaster (well, disaster is kind of heavy), regularly romped through my Genesis and Game Gear, and had some of the coolest darn toys. The kids chose this one from the library and since the 5 year old has to be read to and track the time for Kindergarten and this was a beginner chapter book, I read this one to him and his brother (who is 8) at bedtime over the course of a few nights. Both boys loved it and can't wait for the second book, which was also checked out by us. As the parent, it's meh to read to them but having a book that they were both excited to get through the bedtime routine for was nice, it gets points from me ...more
