This volume peaks early with Spider-Man inadvertently causing the death of Gwen's father, Police Captain Stacy. Spidey's struggles with the personal and political fall-out from this event are surprisingly intense and well-written. After this storyline runs its course, it's business as usual for Peter Parker and friends.
