Recommends it for: philosophers of practical reason
This volume contains Geach's very important paper "Whatever Happened to Deontic Logic", in which he argues that deontic logic fails to understand what it is about (namely, obligations). His argument is based on an insight first articulated by St. Anselm in De Veritate (though he does not credit Anselm, as he should). He also discusses the general silliness of bringing in the apparatus of possible world semantics into deontic logic.
