...and there is so much more to this book than fishing! No, you don't have to be a fishing enthusiast to appreciate SCARBACK. A great, feel-good story with memorable characters. The dialogue is believable, and the author's detailed and affectionate description of small-town living in 1950s upstate New York will make you feel as if you were there. Even the minor characters are unique and interesting. I hope to read more stories of Fairchester and its colorful inhabitants.

It didn’t take me long to feel Dominic’s fear and loneliness. It was vividly portrayed right from the beginning of the story. Dominic was such a good soul. Being forced to return to the migrant farm where he was bullied and nearly died of malaria evoked my deepest emotions. I had to keep reading the story until I learned of Dominic’s fate. It was a very touching story for me to read! Dick Rice

I received this book for free in a goodreads giveaway. A pleasant old fashioned tale That invites readers to check their cynicism. There's just one tiny little thing that's missing... a good looking, eye catching cover.
