After some bad news, Ella jets off to sunny Bermuda for a bit of solo R&R…

By day six, surrounded by honeymooners and smug-marrieds, she has to admit the solo bit is getting a teeny bit boring! Why say no to a casual date at the bar with ripped, tanned and enigmatic Cooper Delaney?

It’s really not Coop’s style to flirt with tourists, let alone hook up with

Going on a solo vacation to fun filled Bermuda sounds like a dream come true. However once there every one will tell you that the more you see of the couples holding hands, making out on the beach and get into the wet and wild side of things whilst playing in the ocean waves, the more you get the message that you're there all alone and none of the action will be coming your way.

That is unless you are the heroine in a Heidi Rice book. Beach Bar Baby tells the very long awaited story of Ella. I fi
I was provided a copy of Beach Bar Baby by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

First let me say, despite the old rule "Never judge a book by it's cover," I'm guilty of it. I'm a title, cover, blurb sort of girl. If the first two don't catch my eye, the likelihood of me turning the book over (or in the days of ereaders, clicking the button to read more) is slim. I'm also just as guilty of liking many of the books that I first snarled my nose at. And while I found the cover of this book si

Ella has retreated to a place that offers sunshine, solitude and beautiful scenery. It isn't really a holiday, it is more a time to reflect and to digest some potentially devastating news. She isn't looking for anything and certainly isn't prepared for the stand-offish yet delectable Cooper.

Cooper isn't exactly what he appears to be at first sight. He keeps all relationships on a candy floss level. Sweet, fluffy and easily dissolved. No complications, no expectations and definitely no repercussi

Who doesn’t like to go on a vacation to Bermuda. Sun, beach, a beautiful beach and most of all a lot of beach boys/men. But seeing all those happy couples walking hand in hand can put a damper on your perfect vacation. This is Ella’s story. Bermuda should have been the best vacation she’s ever had. But once there she realizes that it might have been the biggest mistake she has ever made in her life. That is until Cooper shows up in her life. He shows her wh
An enjoyable, what-you-see-is-what-you get romance novel. It didn't suffer from a case of the stupids, which I appreciated - the characters eventually talk out their issues and whatever Stupid Assumptions are made typically get sorted out relatively quickly rather than dragging out for ages in a sad excuse for a plot.

For some reason, I found Ella's POV far more readable than Cooper's; his felt very Stereotypically Male rather than an actual character, while her's felt more real and organic.

If you are looking for a sweet, simple, fast paces, sexy and enjoyable book thats a bit predictable book then this book is for you.

What I liked about this book was the interesting characters and getting both point of views of Ella and Cooper. It was interesting getting to know a bit about their pasts. I enjoyed seeing the connection between the two. My only problem with this is very predictable book that I feel like I've read it before. Same characters, same situation just different names and pl

“Aye-aye, Captain. But be warned. I’m on a mission tonight to get whatever I want.”

After getting some devastating news from her doctor, Ella Radley decides that she is in desperate need of a vacation. Soon it’s so long England, hello Caribbean! Ella spends most of her vacation alone or fending off married men and their advances until she meets Cooper Delaney on a boat excursion. For once Ella goes with the chemistry she feels with Cooper and spends the last n

Ella was *so* over her solo vacation. Everywhere she looked there were wall-to-wall couples, and she was the odd one out. At least there were only a couple of days to go, and a few activities left on her calendar. Scuba diving was up – and the captain was supposed to be a lovely man in his fifties… but once she got up close, it was definitely not Captain Sonny from the brochure. Read More
Ella finds out she will probably never have kids and goes off for some time on her own to deal with the reality. She meets Coop while on a snorkeling outing and they seem to click. When he invites her to meet up with him later that night, she isn't too sure of herself but then her friend talks her in to it. After a night together she wakes to find him gone so she leaves and plans on having a fun memory.

Coop returns with breakfast to find Ella gone. Although both of them try to go on with life,
Ella decides to take a singles vacation, but little did she know, she would hit it off with Captain Coop Delaney.

When Coop sees Ella and her radioactive blushing, he knew she was adorable, but he didn't know what it would lead to a night together...

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and well, I'm going to be honest...

I barely finished the first chapter, why you ask? Well, I'll tell you;

This was a great fast read. The setting of this book was beautiful. I felt as though I could feel the tropical wind blow in my hair. Who wouldn't want a nice little vacation all by your lonesome in Bermuda and fall madly in love with a local. Ella just needed a little get a way to breath, she really did not think that she would actually meet up with someone who sparked her interest. Along come Coop and well the rest as history. Great recommendation for a beach read.
I received this as a first-read from goodreads in exchange for an honest review of the book. This is a great and fun beach read. It has everything a contemporary romance should have, I will definitely be reading other titles from Heidi Rice.

2.5 stars... I guess?

This wasn't really a bad book, but I just didn't find it really interesting either. Nothing much seemed to happen for the majority of this book until the last 20% where they both sat down and had a bit of a chat over their insecurities, but it was done in such a way as to make it seem like a bit of a non-issue. I also found Coop rather annoying because he'd act like an immature jerk and hurt Ella in selfish ways, act all guilty and remorseful afterwards, then go out and do i

My name's Heidi Rice, I'm a USA Today Bestselling author (because one of my books once hit no. 100 on the list! But it still counts!) I'm married with two teenage sons (which gives me rather too much of an insight into the male psyche!). I also work as a film journalist and I was born in Notting Hill in West London (before it became as chi-chi as it is in the film starring Hugh Grant!) and I now l ...more
