I thought nothing could ever top the first book Randi Kreger co-wrote ("Stop Walking on Eggshells") but her newest book does it---I wish I could give ten stars instead of five. This seemingly simple book is one of the top five most useful books I've ever read in my life---I've already reread it twice, and will be reading it again in the years to come to help keep me in the right mental place. If you want to not only understand emotionally troubled people, but also do something concrete...more
I was maybe looking for an aha moment in this book, but didn't experience it. The book did make me think though, and it did make me question how I've been viewing and relating to a family member who has BPD. I have been angry at her for a long time and tend to be pretty persecutorial and judgmental of her. I think the big question in my mind is what should she be responsible for, and what things is she just not capable of? What kind of expectations is it ok for me or anyone else to have of her? ...more
A very concise and informative read for families of those with borderline personality disorder. In the same vein as Stop Walking on Eggshells: Taking Your Life Back When Someone You Care about Has Borderline Personality Disorder, it provides clear strategies and insight for interacting with a loved one who struggles with BPD. Excellent resource guide in the back of the book. I would definitely recommend this book to family members of patients with BPD or anyone who wants to better understand the...more

Have to admit that I didn't really read it, did a super-fast skim. Mostly aimed at people not at all like me. Probably very useful for its target audience: people who love BP people - parents of a BP kid...it does acknowledge that treatment may not be an option (because the BP person won't get treatment) and that keeping yourself safe from a BP person is paramount....and it focused on face-to-face communication, which is not safe in my case. And I'm still waffling on a BP diagnosis for my dad...more
This is the book I recommend most to people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)and also family members and friends! Highly Recommended book! A must read!
This will be a book I purchase for my personal reference shelves; and for other family members too. It helped answer some questions my family has had for years! What a relief!
I appreciated the support websites and intend to check them out.
Randi Kreger-thank you for writing this book!
