Francine Rivers continues her series of Lineage of Grace, with the story of Bathsheba, one of the best examples we have of the power of God's forgiveness. Bathsheba's early life is described, from her admiration of David to her love for her grandfather Ahitophel. She grows up and unwillingly becomes the wife of Uriah, still clinging to her love for David. The Biblical events of her affair with David are narrated, along with the guilt they feel from betraying Uriah. Even after Bathsheba and David...more

people interested in Bible history.
I really enjoyed the first three novellas in Francine Rivers' "Lineage of Grace" series and then for some reason forgot them for a little while. I'm glad I picked them back up; however, because her fourth book, on Bathsheba, was great. It's hard not to become attached to Rivers' versions of biblical characters. She does a great job of creatively expanding on the existing story without changing the meaning. Her depiction of Bathsheba is both entertaining and uplifting.

There are five books (more like novella's) in this series that are based on the lives of the five women in the lineage of Jesus. They don't have to be read in order, but it may make more sense if you do. I found them enjoyable; and had to remind myself that they are Francine River's take on the little bit of scripture we have on these women. They do give you some insight as to the culture and customs of the day.

I can say that anything written by Francine Rivers (after she became a christian) is a wonderful read. Her biblical & hystorical accuracy is awesome & brings stories that we all have heard before to life. I think the story of Kind David & Bathsheeba should be made into a major motion picture cause it has all the elements of a great film!

I really like this book because it helps me to come to terms with my own past and that nothing is unforgivable. God can make good come from bad, no matter what we intended, and the power of grace and forgiveness are life changing.

This gave me a whole new perspective on Bathsheba (from the Old Testament). It was a fun historical fiction book, and after reading it, I had to go back and read the "real story." I'm excited to read the rest of her books.

The way that David was portrayed was very real. Bathsheba's character was very believable also. It really made me think, mostly that she was equally to blame. David doesn't get it all.

This book was a great historical fiction story. She even includes a bible study at the back of the book so that you can go back & read the story as the bible tells it.

Was OK, not very gripping, but of some interest to me for the interpretation of Biblical history.

We should all raise our children the way Bathsheba did. The world would be a much better place.
