Ever wondered about the differences between a lodgepole pine cone and ponderosa pine cone? totally? me too :) or how many litters a prairie dog produces per year? (one). or maybe what's going on at your local mountain nature refuge in October? (moose mating and rattlesnake entanglements, mostly). This is an essential read for anyone interested in the natural goings-on of their extended Colorado backyard. My only wish is that it had more color and more illustrations and/or photos.
