Waves of Temptation is a short book by Marion Lennox which is an easy read. Set in Australia, you get the British slant on some things.

Kelly Eveldene's son is hurt terribly in a surfing accident and is taken to the hospital to be seen by the orthopedic surgeon. This surgeon is none other than Matt Eveldene, his uncle. Kelly hasn't had anything to do with the Eveldene family in 18 years. Eighteen years ago, she saw Matt when he came to Hawaii to pick up his brother's body. Jessie's depression ha

I really enjoyed this quick read. The surf and medical settings gave a nice texture to the story, and provided some tense action scenes, helping to drive the plot in an organic way. The female lead, Dr Kelly Eveldene, is a well-realised character, convincingly rendered as a competent emergency doctor and as an effective and fiercely loving mother. The male lead, her ex-brother-in-law, Dr Matt Eveldene, is set up nicely as a love interest, with traditionally desirable characteristics (wealth, pat ...more

First impressions count. But Matt Eveldene’s first impression of his so-called sister-in-law was as bad as they get. Mired in grief, picking up his brother’s body in Hawaii, then seeing the bedraggled waif – no doubt bound for rehab – and having to give her Jess’ insurance payout. Distasteful to say the least. Once he leaves, he’ll never have to see her again. Read More

Writing romance sounds fascinating. Huh?

I'm a writer. I'm boring. Day after day I sit behind a word processor making up people in my head. Why do I do it? I love it. My husband, Dave, gets up in the morning, puts on a suit and heads out into the ice and cold of Ballarat's winter. (Sadly I live in one of the tiny parts of Australia that qualifies as cold.) I make myself another cup of coffee, head
