Can you look at unemployment as a neutral event? If you’re not a jobless statistic, you’re probably neutral on neutrality! But, if you’re part of this nation’s 8.5 percent of the labor force who are still looking for work and haven’t given up looking, probably viewing your condition as neither good nor bad is a bit of a stretch. At least it’s likely beyond imagination for anyone who hasn’t yet read Barbara Rarden’s manual for job seekers.
