The Daddy Dilemma

Widower Abel Borgard has his hands full raising twins and establishing a homestead. Mercy Newell's offer to care for his son and daughter seems like the perfect solution. This was a hard book for me to rate, as I waited about a week or so to actually write a review. I had to let it percolate a little in the ol' brain.

First off, I started this book directly after reading a not so good novel with poor characterization and some unbelievable dialogue and prose. Then a widower moves onto the ranch and needs help with his children while he builds a cabin before winter. Soon Mercy starts questioning if a Wild West show will be enough for her because she's rather enjoying being with Abel and his two children. But Abel seems to have trouble trusting her and soon she realizes that she must l ...more

Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.

Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and
