Decent job on timeline of WW2 operations. I liked how the relationships between the soldiers were a relevant part of the story.

Enjoyed this book. I could almost picture a Downton Abbey type setting with the influx of GIs stationed on the grounds of the estate.

I’ve seen so many WW2 movies that focus on the war and atrocities, this would make a refreshing take on the war from the perspective of citizens and the American GIs that were stationed in UK at the time, preparing for Operation Overlord. Of course there were sections of the book devoted to war.

A few things. First of all, poorly researched. After the Normandy the men could go on leave to Paris? Fascinating, considering the Germans still controlled Paris at the time- shouldn't the author have at least googled a timeline of WWII?

Also, I should have realized from the book description that Sophia would literally have nothing else going on in her life except freaking out over 2 men...

Really, really liked the story, the drama part. It was easy to get caught up in. Admittedly, I skipped over some of the war scenes. But the story part? I didn't want it to end.

Quick, enjoyable read. The WW2 history timeline is fairly accurate. My wife is reading it now, she really likes it too.
