What a goat that eats healthy?? This goat unknowingly replants a destroyed orchard as it spits out the seeds from the cherries, pears, & apples it eats.

Cute illustrations.

Our family lives in farm country - surrounded by corn fields, grazing cows, and orchards - so I'm always on the look out for books about farms and the animals that live there. We planted our first vegetable garden this year, and I thought this cute book about a little goat who likes eating fresh fruit from a nearby orchard could help reinforce the idea of eating what you grow.

My daughter is 2, but she followed the story pretty well. She especially enjoyed the colorful scenery and changing season

This little goat prefers eating fruit over eating junk. Every day she eats the windfall fruit in the farmer's orchard and then spits the seeds out over the fence. One stormy night all the trees are blown over and the farmer gathers them up to use as firewood. All winter long little goat watches the smoke from the farmer's chimney and misses the trees. To her surprise, the following spring there are blossoms on the other side of the fence. "Who could have planted the new orchard?" the farm ...more
A young goat lives on a farm and prefers the fruit of the orchard to things other goats eat. The story teaches concepts about the natural world (eg seeds, changing seasons). Colorful, simple illustrations will appeal to the very young.

This book was another one of our recent library picks. It is a cute story that will teach younger children that fruit/fruit trees grow from seeds. After a big storm downs all the trees in the orchard, the animals are sad, but there is a nice surprise for them at the end.

Cute story about the life cycle of fruit seeds to trees from the eyes of a little goat enjoying nature.

Cute little story that explains apple farming simply enough for a young storytime crowd, but has a bit of drama, too.

Good story butt too descriptive for children, I think. It does tend to waffle unnecessary at times but the pictures are colorful. It's ok.

All right. Was looking at this for a farmyard storytime, but would probably be better for a storytime about apples. Not really a satisfactory ending.
