But even worse, when she went to beg the elegant Mr. Ellis to forgive her brother's debt, she ended up losing her heart.

This was good, although there were several moments I personally could have strangled Phila for her hysterics, but I forgive them all due to the presence of The Great Lady Tony as a bit player in the tale.

A rather mediocre regency with a rather dull, almost lifeless heroine and a hero who is so withdrawn and reserved that even the reader can't connect with him.

This is the prequel to 'The Great Lady Tony'. Both are excellent regencies. I have requested these books to be made available on Kindle. Both are on my keeper shelf.
