A bit too checklist-ish for me but fascinating for all that -- for instance it covers not only how to clean glass and reflectors, order oil, trim wicks, and manage various types of signals, but also tells keepers that they need to assess such things as how far are schools from the lighthouse, if the grounds and buildings are safe for keepers' families, and (my favorite) it requires that keepers keep a library and inventory the contents and its applicability to they and their family's needs.
