Devlin doesn’t really delve into the mythology surrounding her series vampires. It’s unclear whether or not her story is set in an alternate real-world universe, or if vampires are considered science fiction. Rene is a human, but he knows that his police partner, Chessa, is a vampire – he says it very matter-of-factly, which lead me to think that vampires are just a given in the world Devlin has created.

I'm halfway through the book and I can't say that I'm going to finish it (which is rare for me).
All of the sex is detailed BUT instead of being hot, it comes across as generic and boring because of its prevalence. It's the same thing over and over and over and over. I'm over it. The entire plot is sex for sex's sake. Seriously, they have sex - two pages worth of apologies, silent treatment, and angry stares - then they're doin' it again! While sex scenes are great and often show cha...more

I was dissapointed in this book. I didn't think she developed the romance between Rene and Natalie at all. It was more a hit and miss. Then the vamp bloodlust and infidility -just sorta wasn't what I care for-I rather read - the mating book were they are over the top crazy for each other-not could just settle for any warm body.
Can't say too much about this one - it just didn't do it for me. I read the first couple of chapters and then skipped around to the end. Lots of sex but I never connected with the characters. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be 'murky'. Not my cup of tea.
Where do I even start with this book? I can honestly say that I wanted to like it. The idea of natural "Born" vampires and made ones "Revenants" was intriguing but beyond that it seems like the author's main purpose was trying to figure out how many sex scenes could be woven throughout the book - multiple partners, F/F, M/F/F. There is a background mystery going on, brutal murders that happened over a space of 40 years, but not enough attention was paid to that in my opinio...more
Want something hot & steamy? Then this is it *lol* I've read like 4 chapters and already there have been 2 extremely hot matings (word used in the book, seriously!) whaha. It's more like a porn version of a vampire book than anything else.
Oh well, it was a bargain so... I might read a chapter now and then, but this is not really my thing, there is just a bit too much sex ^^

I can't even express the words for this book. I just did not like it, I rolled my eyes, said a few"pffts'. It was sex wrapped in sex, smothered in sex and then the author decided to add a vampiric story line. Don't get me wrong the concept was good, but the girl on girl scenes grinded my gears, if they threw the men together I would have been naked faster than you can say "huh".

This was a re-read for me and I liked it as much this time as I did the first time. The book is full of action, hot steamy sex and tells a great story. It is edgy and kept me turning the pages until I finished the book. The vampires in this book are open with having sex with others which is part of their nature and part of their feeding ritual. The same type of theme tends to run through several other vampire books. Ms Devlin handles this very well and provides good reasons for it. Now I a...more
The book is pretty much straight smut, not much happens and really without the sex the book would have been 50 pages tops.
If you want a smut book that is a bit silly then you may enjoy this. If you are looking for romance continue on.

Here I was expecting a light fluffy vamp romance novel! LOL!!
I must say I'm suprised that the storyline is good considering how much sex the character's seem to be having!! haha!
All in all I enjoyed it - a light, steamy read!

I actually loved this book. i had bought it not realizing what it was but when i started reading it i was hooked. I enjoyed the romance and the twist on Vampires.
Well, this book was terrible imo. Now I don't mind sex in a book, but when it's every other page it overshadows the story. When it doesn't have much of one to begin with that makes it even worse. I feel like I just read a 300 page porno. I definitly wasn't feeling any real love in this book. UGh..
I guess it was good....there was so much sex it detracted from the story a bit, even though it was an integral part of the plot. No editorial errors. I liked Rene and his accent a lot. Interesting ending. I will be reading the next in this series.
I really enjoyed getting lost in this story. A lot left unanswered so im hoping there is a book to follow.
Sex, Sex, Sex and rather silly dialog. Oh well, it was a quick read.
An ok read. Nothing special. Not much of a plot.

really really really good!
This is the story of a man and a woman, a woman who happens to be a emerging vampire. They're very attracted and because he succumbs to his temptation he finds himself locked in with her, she could kill him if she succumbs to her instincts. What follows is sex, in a variety of combinations while she gets used to her new world.
It's basically smut with a loose plot. Fun but nothing exceptional.

I'm not used to reading erotica, this was a difficult book to get through for me, however it was alright in my opinion. The writing wasn't spectacular, but the characters were interesting. However in saying that there wasn't enough vamperirism in this book for me. Far too much sex for my liking and not enough biting!
Talk about hot, its so hot you'll be steaming. Erotica full of vampire vixens, suspense and some light bondage. I loved it and will definitely reread this book many times.
This was not my favorite Delilah Devlin book. I just didn't connect with the characters. I really like her Ellora's Cave stories better.
Let me just say this is not one for the younger crowd... Tee Hee
I love erotic romance, but I just wasn't feeling the characters.
