Last Man Standing

Bruce Willis stars in this gritty, intricate story of a drifter who quickly identifies the two factions that continually battle for control of the town, and then plays them against each other for his won profit and a little payback. The complex character tht Willis portrays appears to have a wounded soul, and a little heart--but appearances can be deceiving.

I recognize Yojimbo and A Fistful of Dollars and as another retelling in a different era, this version is pretty enjoyable. Apparently, the original screenplay for Last Man Standing was set in the future but Walter Hill decided to change it to Texas in the early 1930s. Someone should still adapt it for the sci fi scenario...I can see Snake Plissken filling in for "John Smith" AKA The Man With No Name quite well!
