Mara Adkins, a promising fashion designer, has fallen off the ladder of success, and she can’t seem to get up.

In college, Mara and her sorority sisters played an ugly game, and Mara was usually the winner. She’d date men she considered geeks, win their confidence, and then she’d dump them publicly. When Mara begins work for a prestigious clothing designer in New York, she

I so enjoyed every single apology - even the one that didn't go very well.

Mara, a "mean girl" to outdo all mean girls, gets a taste of her own bad medicine. In one fell swoop, she loses her fiancé, her job, and her career. Tail tucked firmly between her legs, she goes home to discover her parents have undergone an amazing change. She quickly learns the change was brought about by a new-found faith. Before long, Mara finds her own faith and feels called by the Lord to contact each of the men she

Back in college, Mara and her sorority sisters got a kick out of publicly humiliating the men who loved them. Now, after a cruel shot of karma, Mara is on a quest to find all twelve men and apologize. Each chapter, written by a different author, features a new man, a new job--and apparently the authors were under strict orders not to make it a common job--and a new reaction to the apology.

Of course, this novel is a bit of a romance to boot, and the final chapter reveals the man of Mara's dreams.

When I first noticed the book A Dozen Apologies, I thought it was an interesting plot. When I discovered that each hero’s chapter was written by a different author, I was intrigued. I missed the posting of the chapters as readers voted on who would be the “happily-ever-after” hero in the final published version of the book, but I think I rather enjoyed reading it all put together.

Each chapter has a fun twist as you find out what the hero is up to after all the years since Mara saw them last. Yo
