Head in the clouds
Much better than its predecessor - I still would have liked to see a bit more grovelling before the heroine gave in. Some people would say Lily is a bit of a spoilt bitch and i see that, especially at the beginning; but I thought she was a pretty well drawn character considering what she went through and what Juniper cost her. I really liked Juniper and I really like them as a couple; but again, I like balance in relationships and the hasty conclusion came up short in my estimations.

I've just finished The Gunslinger's Untamed Bride and my heart aches because it's over. I absolutely loved this story and will likely read it again. Lily Carrington is a woman that gets things done but sometimes she's so engrossed in herself that she forgets to see the whole picture.
Juniper Barnes is a an outlaw with a heart. There's no other way to describe him. Forced into a life he didn't choose, he spends his days living in his past. He shut himself off from life's little joys like family.
So far Lily seems like a real bitch.
She's a feisty, savy, business tycoon & he's a gunslinger turned sherrif that killed her Pa sending her life into misery. He now stands between her & the trouble she created when she took over a lumber business.

It's funny, witty & action packed with a brief kidnapping, heist & tracking the baddies all the time learning about the man she wanted to kill..
This was good as the first one! :)

Here we follow the story of the adopted son of the previous couple: a wonder-teen-gunslinger! WOW!!!

He's deliciously bad! And the fun part was that the heroine was good too! A self-made rich woman! Oh, I admired her very much! To be able to achive everything she did in a time when women were treated as cattle is great!

Together they're explosive: Lily knows very well what she wants. First to kill Juniper, than to get him (wiggle eyebows)!

Great read!
Dawn ♥ romance
This American historical romance was okay with a good plot and lots of exciting action but the relationship was not very realistic. The heroine hated the hero for the first half of the book then all of a sudden she kissed him. Business owner Lily learns her father's killer Juniper is the sheriff at her newly acquired lumber mill.
If you enjoy a great western romance you will love this one. It was awesome all the way around. It's the second book I've read by Stacey Kayne and now she's up at the top of my western romance writers list.

This is book 2 in her Brides series be sure to read the first one it's excellent too. However I think you could read them as stand alone books and not have a problem. You will just enjoy it more I think if you do read it as a series as you see some returning characters from the first book whi
Too quick, too shallow for my tastes.
When Lily Carrington heads up to the lumber camp she has recently purchased, her sole and hidden purpose is to confront and kill the gunslinger that killed her father. She did not expect to find a handsome, reformed and well-respected sheriff. After a series of frightening misunderstandings the two must rely on each other and slowly begin to break down their pre-conceived notions of each other. Bet you can guess what happens in the end…
A solid 3.5 rating. This is a really entertaining book with a wonderful plotline. The minor characters do not jar and the hero is divine. They don't make men like that anymore, and more is the pity :)
I enjoyed the western theme, and the writing was not tacky. There were no cliches, the romance and the tension in the development of the relationship was nicely handled. Overall, a good read.
I picked this up because it was fairly short and it was obviously going to have a happy ending.. sometimes I like reading books that don't take much thinking and is just a good western adventure love story. I also liked that the main female character was strong even though she acted stupid at times.
Lily is exactly the kind of heroine I want to read about. I loved this book! The plot was solid, the characters were "real" and ms. Kayne story telling ability is second to none. I'm definetely finishing the rest of this series.
