THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF WARRIOR CATS!!! This book takes place RIGHT in between the first series and the second one. Firestar begins to see cats that aren't from Starclan or any other clan! Eventually he finds out that there had been a fifth clan in the forest. Skyclan. A clan that had been driven out of the forest because the twolegs had started building houses on their territory. Firestar and Sandstorm set out to rebuild Skyclan, even through it seems completely impossible!

After finishing this book, I had an odd feeling of relief that it was over. Now, normally, I LOVE WARRIORS BOOKS. Believe me. But this one felt a little bit too long, and I thought if could have used some more work.

Now, it was still a very good book. I actually enjoyed it alot, but it just didn't gel as well as the other Warriors books. I do know that Erin Hunter, the author of the books, is actually three women who write the books together. Maybe they just didn't have much enthusias...more

This book takes place after Scourge killed Tigerstar, but before Squirrelflight and Leafpool were born. Firestar's Quest tells of a fifth clan that used to dwell in the forest, until Twolegs and the other four clans drove it out. This clan was called SkyClan.

After receiving messages from Spottedleaf, Firestar sets out with Sandstorm to attempt to find and hopefully rebuild SkyClan. Although they suceed, SkyClan stays in it's newfound home and does not return to the forest.

This book is getting really good. Firestar is now in the gorge with Sandstorm learning SkyClan's history from Sky and his faith in StarClan has already been shaken.

As for what i've learned, this has filled in a huge gap in the story for me finally. Same with the Mangas. They filled in gaps for me so i'm not so lost from time to time!

The whole deal with all the characters in the book being cats can be rather annoying though albeit an interesting twist. In this book, warriors are given names of nature things, including objects and living creatures. One of the characters, Echosong, has a name that defies this rule. Can cats understand a song? Do they know what an echo is? This is debatable. Over all I think Firestar achieves his goal too easily. Something as tricky as what he had to do shouldn’t work out so quickly - or so well. It’s like solving math problems when all the text book problems are easy but real life ones are hard and they don’t come out evenly. Firestar also seems like the perfect character. He is nice, funny, smart, stands up for what he believes in, and is leader of his clan. He is, luckily, prone to mistakes and he makes a few. But too few. This character needs more flaws. Sandstorm, the cat traveling with him, also appears too perfect. She excels at everything she tries. Erin Hunter also uses the words “blinked gratefully.” Most people cannot blink gratefully at someone and cats certainly cannot. However, there are many positive aspects of Firestar’s Quest. It is a slightly less than page turning book, the liveliness of the scenes and interesting plot twists make it a winner. The impossibility of the task StarClan sets before Firestar keeps you going, even when things seem to go too well. After all, you want to know how he does it. Firestar and Sandstorm may be perfect characters but others keep the dialogue from becoming dull. Cherrypaw and Sparrowpaw are often in conflict or competition with each other and others, giving some well needed comic relief. Sometimes Firestar is stupid which it is hard to imagine, but true. Firestar leads one of his clan mates to death because of his actions, saying it is for the best of the clan. Erin Hunter’s golden boy may seem perfect on the skin but underneath many unwise discussions are made. The end is fulfilling and pleasing, but perhaps too settled and calm, almost drowsy. Firestar’s Quest is overall a good read with some flaws that are perhaps somewhat exaggerated here. This book is a must read for anyone interested in cats or adventure.

Taking place between the first and second series of Warrior books, Firestar's Quest sees Firestar learning a secret almost forgotten by the four clans. There was in fact a 5th clan that was run out by twolegs and refused sanctuary by the other clans. Plagued by visions, Firestar sets off to discover what happened to this clan and put them back together again. The book does has a lot going for it. First of all it focuses on a rather deep idea of religions/faiths lying to their believers. Firestar feels betrayed at points, knowing Starclan have kept the existence of Skyclan a secret. It also treads some iffy territory as Firestar and Sandstorm attempt to convert cats to the warrior code. Luckily, the book is smart enough to show that it isn't for everyone, and that all cats have their own path which is right for them. My other big love of this book comes from the similarities to my favourite film of all time, The Seven Samurai. Firestar and Sandstorm have to recruit new members for Skyclan, which would make a fairly interesting montage. They are then threatened by a group of rates threatening invasion. They must band together, along with a new set of misfits, to overcome this threat. The new cats are all great characters, and I'm glad that their adventures were followed up with another book. They all have a certain amount of disbelief concerning the warrior code, and reading about what they learn can be a lot of fun. The only real problem with the book comes from being well versed in the mythology already. We have chapters and chapters where Firestar teaches these cats what to do in a clan, but as we know all of this, it can become tedious for the reader. The same goes for other sections, such as a lengthy chapter about the new Skyclan leader getting their lives. We've done all this with Firestar before. Still, I found it easy enough to skim read through those parts, and the action and heart is still there.(less)

Firestar’s Quest is an exciting book from the Warriors saga by Erin Hunter.
I really enjoyed this book because it had a different story line to any other book I have ever read.
In the story Firestar, leader of Thunderclan, and his mate, Sandstorm, embark on a quest to find and restore Skyclan, the long lost fifth clan of the forest. But Skyclan left the forest so long ago that no living cat remembers them and have long since scattered.

This is a book about the lives of wild cats. Kinda reminds me of Watership Down. When I say cats and am talking about the size of house pets. It talks about the various clans and how they function and the quest that Firestar and Sandstorm go on.

This book was very interesting to say the very least. If you havent read the previous books, I wouldnt recommend this book for you to read. You'll need to know Firestar's background to be able to understand this. These books are also about cats in the wild. This book was interesting because it tells you about Firestar, the main character who goes on a quest to revive Skyclan, a clan who use to be in the forest. I enjoyed this book, but I preferred the Bluestar's Prophecy super edition, if I'm honest. There's an awful lot of journeying in this book and it dragged on for quite a bit. The journeying didn't need to take as long as it did. It was an interesting read, however, and I still enjoyed it. A great thing is that this book is in between the six moons between the Original series and The New Prophecy series and it tells you what happened in between. Overall, a nice book.

This book is facinating. I like that in this book Firestar proofs to his mate (Sandstorm) the he may have like Spottedleaf (medicine cat when Firestar joined the clan) but no longer did. Ofcourse Sandstorm did't believe this until Spottedleaf (alredy dead) told her that she to loved Firestar but their relashionsihp could never be good. I would rate the book this because the book has a lot of descriptive words, but the chapters skip around to different cats and it is kinda hard to follow. I'm sure that cats have their own form of communication and structure of interaction, but I find it hard to believe that there are four C...moreMany who have simply heard of the Warriors Saga may believe that this is considered a guilty pleasure by its readers. It is a story about cats who communicate and act as warriors in the forest... Who would be proud about professing this as one of their favorite books. Well, I would. Yes, Firestar's Quest, along with all the other books in the saga, is fantasy. I'm sure that cats have their own form of communication and structure of interaction, but I find it hard to believe that there are four Clans of cats living in the forest with their own complex system of beliefs. Sure, maybe this truly happens, just as ghosts and vampires may exist in the the shadows. However, the entity that the combination of authors that is Erin Hunter created is a created world - with warrior cats. The book is neither something that young teenage girls can relate to while struggling through the pressure of high school nor a self-help book for single fathers. To the naked eye, Firestar's Quest is entertainment. And, I agree, entertainment was the the primary goal in the writing of this book. Readers are meant to be enthralled by the idea of a functioning cat society and this brave hero, Firestar, who communicates with ancestors who give him advice and instructions on how to guide his fellow cats. But, just as with all books, there is a deep under layer beneath the plot of Firestar's Quest. Firestar, after receiving dreams and visions from an long-time exiled and dispersed Clan, sets out to find the descendants of these cats with his mate, Sandstorm, by his side. On its own, this would make me pick up this book from the shelf. But the relationships and emotions you watch the characters experience is what keeps the book in my hands. Loyalty, deception, betrayal, regret, denial, hatred, love, uncertainty, passion, respect, and belief - all wrapped into one (with many more).

Can cats love? Do they feel loyalty? Can a leader leave his followers? What do you do when you can see nothing of the path but where your feet stand? These are just the first few chapters. "There was an ominous silence, and Firestar felt his pelt singed by many scorching stares. He knew what was in his Clanmates' minds as clearly as if they spoken out loud. Were are you going? Why are you leaving us? Has StarClan promised to bring you back? He longed to reassure them." Little did his Clanmates know, Firestar had lost his faith in their ancestors, StarClan, when he learned they banished cats in need from their forest. Now he must leave those who need him most to find cats that don't even exist anymore. It's no wonder that he didn't start his "quest" until Chapter 11. But what you see as the quest unfolds is the true emotion that accompanies uncertainty. You are left raw and open to the world, and all that you fear. His mate questions him and his love for her, and in this struggle of his loyalty, he must also struggle with his feelings for her. But still, they depend on each other. They travel and lose themselves only to find themselves, and the lost cats. Then the real struggle begins, where he must bring together beings of completely different backgrounds and beliefs into one community where loyalty persists. He must teach this strays and pampered pets that and explains time and time again that "it's important for a Clan to have strong warriors. But the warrior code isn't just based on what is practical. Honor matters equally as much. Elders and nursing queens must be shown respect, because without them the Clan wouldn't survive."

What parent wouldn't love their child learning these lessons, and what person wouldn't love to see a balanced world at work? Yes, there are conflicts and of course death, yet there is always life. So, no one can see this book as a "guilty" pleasure. However, no book can be perfect. In truth, the plot may be too heavy. As I said, just the journey did not begin until Chapter 11, well into the book. Then the journey itself to get to their real destination and their true purpose took up a portion of the book. It seems as though the book had a lot of build up - with no doubt including mini-lessons and emotions and faith - and then the actual conflict that started everything exploded in a short time. However, this does work since the very best is condensed into such a way that you cannot put the book down once you reach that point.

This book misses nothing that a true fantasy adventure novel should include, and it serves its purpose perfectly and then some. It's worth a read. (less)

This gets a soft 3, which is actually closer to a 2.5. It was average-ish. But it was a quick, easy read so I won't judge it as harshly as I did Bluestar's Prophecy.

Some things about this book I enjoyed, such as the overall quest and the idea of Firestar having to make up for the sins of the other Clans. When they arrived to the top of the cliff, they hear two kitty-pets talking rudely. They even kick stones to Firestar while they are climbing up the cliff. They are the first apprentices that join the modern Skyclan. Many other cats join the clan such as Leafdapple, Sharpclaw, Pettelnose … At last, the leader of the modern Skyclan is leafdapple the leader name of it is leafstar. A “REAL” leader should receive nine lives from there warriors ancesters, it will have some pain while the life is sinking through the cats’ body.
I like the part that Firestar is searching for Sandstorm when Sandstorm got washed away by the terrible storm. This is like my mom caring about me.
Erin Hunter uses a lot of personification in her book. For example, she describes humans as two-leg monsters and roads as thunderpaths. I think Erin Hunter must be a very imaginative and creative person. She might like cats, her books are always interesting!
I think Erin Hunter wants us to know that when you work together you are stronger than yourself. For example, the cats in the book always form clans. The cats in the Warriors series maybe think working as a clan provides shelter, food, and friends.
I wish I can read the book that is called Bluestar’s Prophecy. That book is always out when I want to read it. I wish the librarian can buy more Warriors series. I will recommend my mom to read this book because she likes animal books and fantasy books.

Firestar is one of my top four favorite cats of all time (including: Spottedleaf, Jayfeather, Leafpool--I love medicine cats) and having a 500-page book dedicated to him was amazing! There are tons of promotional copies of books laying around in my office, and this happens to be one of them. I don't know where it came from or what they expected us to do with it, but i'm giving it 4 stars just for the cover.

Firestar's Quest is a companion novel that takes place between the first six-book series of Warriors, and second. Firestar journeys far outside of the Forest of the four Clans to rebuild the mysterious fifth Clan that had left generations ago, SkyClan.

This book is considered as an off stage book for the warriors series that tell you more about the character or cat? I thought that when reading this book i really got most of the second series down. Erin Hunter does a wonderful job on foreshadwoing the story and also the series but wouldn't want any of the end to be spolied to the reader. It had a lot of action and some mysterious touch to it that i thought was really good. I would give this book a 3.5 on the amount of how well the book was.

This was a weird Warriors book, esp. since it involved StarClan so much. The others have been strangely religious in nature, but this one brings in the idea that the ancestors could have made mistakes and were not prepared to right them -- spooky and a bit sacrilegious, imho. I did like watching the action develop, though, and I was thoroughly surprised by the antagonist. Nice, but not as thorough and enticing as the others. Firestar's heart wasn't in it the way it was in it for his own clan.
