This work of historical fiction concerns the coal wars of the 1900s-30s, and is set, specifically, in Western Pennsylvania. The coal wars were labor struggles in USA mining regions that were sometimes as heated, dangerous and ungoverned as guerrilla vs. paramilitary skirmishes in so-called third world countries today.
