OH MY GOSH!!
I love Heather Wells (the main character). She is so relatable it's sometimes scary. Having been an avid fan of the Heather Wells character since I read the first page of 'Size 12 is not fat', I've avidly followed this series written by Meg Cabot.
I'm not usually a fan of chick lit, but the balance of humor, mystery, characters etc in these books makes them so much fun to read. Heather is a pop tween hit turned college worker just trying to make a living. S More...

Meg Cabot's books have always been something of a guilty pleasure of mine, but lately my enjoyment has begun to wane. This book in particular was a disappointment, for several reasons. Firstly, the protagonist is, yet again, pretty stupid (sorry, but it's true). It really is irksome how self-absorbed Heather can be, how oblivious she is, and the stupid mistakes she makes. Yes, to err is human, but unfortunately instead of coming off as a lovable idiot, or even just an ordinary person, Heather is

I like Meg Cabot books but some of her novels definitely go in the 'beach reads' pile. They're amusing but not particularly satisfying -- much like the junk food Heather Wells is always eating.
The concept for this series is cute: former teen pop sensation, Heather Wells, now broke and overweight, works in a NY college dorm as an administrator and solves the repeat murders that take place there. You have to look past the idea that NY detectives are so stupid they couldn't find their b More...

I rushed out into a snow storm yesterday to buy this book because I had just finished Size 14 is Not Fat Either and I just wasn't ready to part with quirky Heather Wells. I rarely laugh out loud at a book as hard I did when I read this series. So, naturally in a mood for more laughter, and hopefully a resolution to the Heather/Cooper love saga, I speed read through this third installment in the series.
Unfortunately, I felt this was the weakest book in the series. It still had me More...

These are the first Meg Cabot books I've read and I really have enjoyed them. Yes, they're fluff. But her dialogue and characters are so genuine that it all seems so effortless. It's fizzy fluff with a zip. Effervescent fluff. If her writing were food, it would be that pop rock cotton candy, which honestly, we all need a little more of in our diet.

This is the third novel in the Heather Wells series, following Size 12 is Not Fat and Size 14 is Not Fat Either. Personally, I think this might just be the best in the series, albeit a seemingly quicker read than the others. But truly? They're all brilliant. Heather, despite being a former pop princess, is a down-to-earth, funny character who's instantly lovable and easy to relate to. I'd advise you to read the other two books in the series first, although it's pretty easy to follow up and Meg's

I had ordered several books by Meg Cabot, and without paying attention to the order that they were written and published, I read this one first. This is actually the 3rd in the Heather Mills series, after Size 12 Is Not Fat and Size 14 Isn't Fat Either. I can say, though, that even not having read the first two books in this series I wasn't lost. I'm sure that knowing the characters in the book may have given the characters more depth, but it certainly wasn't necessary to understand the story

I did not know this was the third book in the series. Hopefully 1 and 2 were much better than this one, because I found it ridiculous. The main character Heather is so annoying. She has a boyfriend, a crush and Cooper who are all dying to be with her and all she does is complain about her size. The romance with the cafeteria lady and security guard was silly. The murder mystery, murderer, solving the mystery and ending of the book were all dumb. I will not be reading a book by Meg Cabot again

Ahh again book 3 in a series and I didn't read the first 2...Was a little hard to get caught up. I did really enjoy it though. Just all around fun with a little bit of mystery.

I loved this book just as much as I did the other Heather Wells mysteries. So much, in fact, that I'm sad there aren't any more -- at least for now. Although Cabot says a fourth and fifth are in the works. This was a super fast read (almost too fast, I wanted more!), and the actual mystery -- never that compelling in Cabot's books anyway -- was even more "fluff" than usual, taking a huge backseat to other aspects of the story. But the strange thing is, I didn't mind; I didn't mind that

Light reading, not compelling but amusing. I would read more if they were on a feature shelf, but am not likely to go out of my way to find more.

Big Boned is the third book in Cabot's Heather Wells series. Heather is a washed up former rock singer. She was famous on the mall and fair circuit when she was a teen. Her mother ran off with her manager and all of Heather's money, her father was jailed, and her musician boy friend dumped her. Heather, in an attempt to put her life back together and pursue music she wants to write, took a job at New York College as assistant dorm director at the aptly named "Death Dorm." This tim

Big Boned is the third (and most recent) book in Meg Cabot's Heather Wells Mysteries series.
There's been yet another murder at Fischer Hall. This time its Heather's boss Owen. Shot in the head while sitting in his office. Heather is the one that finds him... and now she's a suspect! Granted, she didn't always get long with her new boss, but would she really KILL him?? No. Of course not! She's cleared of suspicion within about two seconds and then we go back to her promising (y More...

I’m an avid fan of the books in the Heather Wells series, and although Big Boned wasn’t as good as the other books in the series, it was still enjoyable.
When Heather finds her new boss shot dead in his office, she’s baffled. Because, really, who’d want to kill her Garfield-loving, albeit strict, boss?
When a wrongly accused student is arrested for the murder, Heather finds herself, again, in the middle of the chaos. Now there are two students in jail, one in hysterics, More...

I red the book Size Doesnt Matter.
I kinda liked this book because it is a little bit of a mistery and romance story.
It is about this woman that is in university and has a boyfriend but he is a profesor assistant in the math department.Students and teachers arent allowed to have a relationship and if they find out the professor will be fired.
They have this horrible boss in the office Dr. Veatch and everyone hates him. One day when Heather Wells (the main character in the More...

I should mention that I did not read the previous books, which apparently build the characters and lead to this book. I expect there were comments made that meant nothing to me because of this.
Overall, the book is pretty good. It started off with a few good laughs and immediately you could identify with the main character. Definitely not your typical mystery in that it is light and fluffy. There weren't any surprises and you knew what the ending was long before you reached it. Whi More...

...We see the same characters come back from the last book, like Sarah the grad student worker, Heather's old boss Tom, Heather's Dad, Gavin McGoren and I love Gavin just as much in this book as I did in the last book. There's just something about Gavin that I can't help but love. His adoration of Heather, the way he has complete faith in her and his sense of humor. Goodness, the scenes that Gavin is in always has me in fits of giggles. He's such a cutie patootie.

I think I read this book before or I at least started to read it because the beginning of the story sounds familiar. It is ok, nothing social, I am at page 200 so I might as well finish it. ....Ok so this book was not the best and I do not think I finished the first time and there was a reason for it. I guess it was not cheesy enough for me.

Heather Wells is at it again when her freeloading ex-con father is finally moving out, her burning love for her landlord and (sometimes) partner Cooper Cartwright still takes effect event though she is a completely different relationship, and her boss is murdered in his office. With lots of suspects as to who did it (lets just say her boss wasn't the most loveable person), Heather can't help but try to find out who did it.

I was looking for a lighter read and stumbled upon the third book in the Heather Mills series. I enjoyed the first two, and knew the tone of this book was just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as the others. I read it last month, and am just now posting the review. That tells you that I wasn't too eager to rave about it. The other problem is that now that time has passed, I don't remember much about the plot of the book. What I do remember is that it focused less on

Well. I've now read all 3 of the Heather Wells books, all in a row, in about 2 weeks time. I'm looking forward to reading something else.[return[returnI flew through this one. More in an effort to just finish it already. The mystery in this one was, well, boring. Heather didn't have to try too hard. And if no one in the story cared about the character who was murdered, why should I? There was no depth to this one. Not as good as the other two. Like Ms. Cabot had the "Heather Wells story tem

Who doesn't love a happy ending to a series. Anna Godberson of the Luxe should take notes :0)
I don't want to give anything away... but I do recommend this series.

This is the third book in the Heather Wells mystery series. I actually read it first but I don't feel like I was missing anything.

Finished this last night. I really enjoyed it though the ending I found a little disabointing. A little to Hollywood perfection for me. I think that was one of the reasons I enjoyed this series. Her life was not perfect bad things happened but she always made the best of her situation. She was reacting to what was occuring at her place of work but she was in charge of her own life. Her life went out of control when she was to young to have control of her life herself. Once she took control of th

I really got in to the first and second books in this three-part series (they are a fun, breezy read with lots of feel-good material on body image and type), but the last one just didn't do much for me. The mystery was clunky and forced to its conclusion by the author, whose strengths are dialogue, humour, and relatable female characters -- not cleverly designed murders. Alas. Why can't I have it all?!

In the third Heather Wells book, Meg Cabot brings us yet another amazingly written novel filled with Meg's trademark hilarious humor, as well as suspense, romance, and a surprise ending (in many ways). What I really loved about this book was the recurring appearance of Heather's second boss Tom (the only boss to have made it out of Death Dorm alive), who really livened up the scene whenever he appeared, along with all the other amazingly written characters. My one problem with the book was that

Heather Wells, former “flash in the pan” pop star is continuing to pursue her criminology degree while working at New York College’s “Death Dorm.” This dorm has been the scene of several crimes and in this novel, Heather has the unfortunate luck of finding her new boss with a bullet hole in his head when she arrives at work one morning. Of course, the obvious suspect, complete with murder weapon, is not guilty and Heather sets out to prove it. The story is interlaced with her battle with food
