Conversations in the Night contains two of Fürnberg's short stories and one novella, thematically unified by the conversation about art, the artist and the purpose of art in social life. The first story centers on Mozart himself, who's the main character and who has Casanova for a conversation partner. Second one centers around Goethe, but barely features the man himself, while discussions about him - led mostly by Adam Mickiewicz, who's a national poet himself, but a national poem of Poland ...more
