Spoiler free review!

*I got this book free on Storycartel in exchange for an honest review*

I haven’t read a real fantasy book in sometime, and I thought Starling looked just the thing to get me back into it. I have to say, it didn’t disappoint. It is a real fantasy read, and it was very good at pulling me in and getting lost in the story.

When I first started there was a, ‘Dramatis Personal’ at the beginning, and it was quite a big cast. This had me a little bit concerned that I wouldn’t be able t

I received this book free from StoryCartel in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This is the debut book from E.B. Thompson and she has started off with a 'stellar' novel (sorry, I just couldn't help myself!). The story is original, the characters are likeable or not as the case may be. The plot is well-written and well-paced and the whole thing put together makes for an unput-downable book which leaves you wanting more.

The main female is AnnaLydia or Anna for short. She is a Starling princess

what the blur says...The stars are going out.
But they aren’t truly stars.
They are cities for a long forgotten race of people, the Starlings. These Starlings have protected the humans down below from other peoples who would wish them harm, but now they face an enemy they have no hope of defeating. In order to warn the humans of the war that is to come, they send down an ambassador. But the humans have problems of their own they must face before

I had a difficult time with this one. I started it, got about 10% in, and had to put it down for a bit. After giving myself a talk, I decided to give it another go. Now, there is a pretty awesome idea behind this story. Unique (and I love unique!). The cover is beautiful. But the story felt forced and at times, even a bit confusing. There were also some things I would have liked more explanation of and other times, things that I wasn't sure what was the point of it being in the book. If this ...more

I have never read a book like that before. If you ever wondered what are the stars in the fantasy world, this book reveals that.

Hello there, fellow lover of the written word! My name is E. B. and I write things. Mostly fantasy, scifi, and superheroes, although lately romance has been sneaking in. Most people say I’m sweet, but they obviously haven’t read my stories. When not doing writerly things, I can usually be found crafting. In fact, my house currently happens to look like both the bookstore and the yarn store ...more
