Let's get right to it, shall we? Fanny Brightwell finds herself betrothed to and old goat in order to save her family from poverty. The man is fat, with putrid breath but worst of all horny. He looks at her like his own personal whore, checking out her assets at his leisure. He wants to wed her immediately but she attempts to stall, " The day after that, then- and that's as long as I'm prepared to wait. The anticipation of my Magnificent Member to feel the smooth, slippery wetness of your ...more

I usually don’t like to read too many historical books because I find them boring, unreal, or full of errors. But this one was wonderful!

Miss Fanny Brightwell has to marry a rich man because her father lost everything before he died. When Alverley, the man Miss Fanny hoped to marry tells her that he wants her just as his mistress, she is devastated; that means that she'll have to marry the pestilential Lord Slyther, but that night she meets Viscoun

There should be a warning; hot scenes in Rake’s Honour will melt your e-reader.
Set in 1818, this story sizzles. Hot characters with a burning desire and sensual trysts. After an unexpected, sexual encounter with a delectable, muscular masked man, Fanny Brightwell can’t think of anyone else, or for that matter anything else. Her sexuality has been aroused and she wants more. Nothing will stop her from getting what she wants, Viscount Fenton. Fanny’s mother has made other arrangements, she must ma

Historical English romance about the nasty side to arranged marriages in the London 'ton' society.
Miss Fanny Brightwell is the daughter to a Baron who died in mysterious circumstances, but is still accepted in some balls and drawing-rooms because of her beauty and wit.
But Miss Fanny Brightwell doesn't have any more time to find a husband because she and her family are totally broke and only have enough to finish out the month and then they will be on the nasty London streets. So Fanny makes som

Rake's Honour takes the ballroom historical a naughty step further, reimagining the traditional scenario of the dutiful daughter saving her family through an unappealing marriage to appeal to readers who enjoy more smut as sweetener to their Almack's lemonade.

The characters are at the forefront of the story, and I soon found myself drawn into the extremes of their desires. Fanny is unrepentantly lusty, and likeable because of it. She's torn between familial duty and her own raging hormones, some

It's no surprise that Rakes Honour was nominated for Australian Romance Readers Historical Romance of the year - what a delicious and wicked romance! From the first moment we meet the spirited Fanny Brightwell and the delicious Vicount Fenton you will be on the edge of your seat - or possibly the edge of your washing machine if you know what I mean...

This is a hot and heavy romance that will make you tingle in all the right places from beginning to end. I have read all Beverley Oakleys previous

This story was really quite good. I didn't have any expectations, I don't know why, but I really enjoyed reading this. Good characters, although I didn't like Fanny's mother, ugh! And her sister wasn't much better. I did like Fenton though. Good plot. Enjoyable read.

I finished, but barely. The characters just turned me off. I kept thinking I would warm up to them but it never happened.

Beverley was seventeen when she bundled up her first 500+ page romance and sent it to a publisher. Rejection followed swiftly. Drowning one’s heroine on the last page, she was informed, was not in line with the expectations of romance readers.

So Beverley became a journalist.

After a whirlwind romance with a handsome Norwegian bush pilot she met in Botswana, Beverley discovered her “Happy Ever After
