Not a real "history of Greenfield" so to speak, but more like the story of Greenfield. If your looking for an academic study of Greenfield this isn't it.

However it's still a very entertaining and fun read. Reading a book about where my family is from, and where I spent so much of my childhood was awesome!

If you're new to the area and want to learn a little about the past of the area you live this is a great book. Or if you're an old hunky that wants to take a look back in time also a great rea

The title is politically incorrect but it is story of the assimilation of immigrants into the community of Greenfield over several centuries. A fascinating read and very colorful. Knowing the Avenue as it existed in the 40s and the 50s brought back memories as well as some of the names used as references and the history of Fort Black and some of the Curches and schools.

A history of Pittsburgh, one of America's great cities, centered on the neighborhood of Greenfield. Chock full of colorful characters, rich history and vivid memories, told in the words of people who lived it. Lots of fun sidebar facts as well.
