He'd have me on my back in a minute and be inside me in twice that. And I'd let him...hell, I'd beg him. Because he was the only one who'd ever made me feel this way, like my skin and bones weren't strong enough to hold my heart inside. He was everything.
Too much.

It's been one year, a month, 3 days, 2 hrs and 58 minutes since I read Shadowboxer and been hounding Cari for a book for Giovanni and Carly. But who's counting, eh? Tapped Out is a series that reads like it was custom writt

I enjoyed Shadowboxer, but Carly & Gio's story has me officially hooked to the Tapped Out series. I'm invested. I loved everything about this book. I loved the chemistry between Gio & Carly, Gio's vendetta against the mob, Carly's secret identity, and the supporting cast as a whole. Though Carly was annoying at times, she made up for by sassing up a storm. And Gio was just perfect. If I was the book boyfriend claiming type, I would totally snatch up Gio. All in all, a superb MMA romance. ...more

From the first book I read by author Cari Quinn I've been a huge fan but On The Ropes was not for me. I had issues with the spoiled heroine and while I liked the hero okay the fact he was able to get out of a situation that no one walks away from unscathed was unrealistic. While I know this is fiction I expect a good dose of believability in the books I read and this one lost me on several points. While this book did not meet my expectations,

G.I.O.V.A.N.N.I. LOVE HIM I am not a huge MMA fan, but the steamy attraction between Gio and Carly is amazing. He can be a bit of a dick, but it adds to his charm. Carly is trying to find a balance for herself and loves the rough stuff. So enjoyed this romance. He's my new book boyfriend! Bring it on Cari Quinn - we need more!

Not the average love story but why would you want it to be?
Wow where do I start ...this book Jesus I felt so torn my emotions so darn frayed falling for Gio just as hard as Carly. Who knew the man behind the gloves was so DAMN beautiful. And Lord the heat from both of them could set fire to every bed of the woman reading this...I would so pay to watch this series on the big screen.

**~I received and arc of this book in exchange for an honest review~**

This is Cari's 3rd book in the Tapped Out series, it was one of my favorites so far. I would recommend reading Body Shots before this one, it's not needed but it kind of gives you a little back story on Gio and Carly before On the Ropes begins. I was really looking forward to reading Carly and Gio's story. I actually was going into the book thinking I wouldn't like Gio, but I definitely fell for him while reading the book. Car

REVIEW FOR ON THE ROPES
I received this as an ARC for an honest review
Gio Costas….MMA fighter, son of a mafia Don man on a mission towards revenge and quite possibly death. Carly Anderson….chef in training, part time topless dancer and the woman who loves Gio. These two are brought together under unspeakable conditions….and Gio is forced to protect her. But not for the reasons he thinks. Gio was once in love with a girl named Emilia, the daughter of his father’s enemy and chief rival. They were g

This is book 3 in the Tapped Out series, read in the order listed below. I rec'd this ARC for an honest review. Love this book and this series, they are well written, fast paced, with developed complex characters. This is Gio and Carly's unconventional unromantic/romantic love story. Carly is Mia's kid sister, (who is a student by day and a stripper at night) who thinks at 18 she knows everything about life, but she's naive as to the ways of the underground world. Gio a member of one mob family ...more

5 stars just isn’t enough. Can I buy another one?

I was a little late to the Tapped Out scene. At the urging of a friend I recently read book 1, Shadowboxer, and was completely hooked. I power-read the rest of the series in time for Carly and Gio’s story. Because, while I love & admire older sister Mia for her bravery, protectiveness, and never-give-up warrior’s spirit, little sister Carly stole a big chunk of my heart with her sass, optimism, and willingness to put it all out there and go af

Typically I would never be caught reading a book that involves underground MMA fighting. It's just not my thing. However! I overlooked that with On The Ropes and let the book happen. I read it with an open mind and realized quickly that the fighting itself didn't really make the story happen. On The Ropes could have happened without a fight ever taking place and still been a good story. Gio is subtle at best with the demons he is fighting. Carly has her own demons and it appears that their ...more

On The Ropes by Cari Quinn

This is officially both my favorite book in the Tapped Out series and my favorite book thus far by Cari Quinn.

We've met these two characters, Gio and Carly in the series' previous books and I really had no idea how much substance there was to them. Gio is just delicious. On the surface he is just a sexy MMA fighter, an alpha. But deeper than that, he is a true fighter that's been through so much more than anyone should. He can't trust anyone but himself yet he can't s

This is a first by Cari Quinn for me and I wasn't disappointed.
My biggest pet peeve with this story is Carly's age. With her being the main character and facing a lot of adult situations, I just wish the author would have made her age older. Carly is 18 years old and to me that is just too young for an adult romance novel with this much heat. You will however with the story line forget that she is that young because the characters actions will make her seem older.
Gio is the mobsters son and ha

Before I get to my review I want to make it clear that this book comes with warning from the author:

Please be advised this book contains content some may find triggering (sexual trauma) and also contains graphic sex, language and violence that may not be suitable for underage readers.

I fell in love with this series from book one and have not looked back. The author does such a fabulous job of transfixing you into the story that you can’t help becoming emotionally attached to each one of the cha

This series definitely has some graphic dark moments (which the author warns you about).

Carly is a young fairly naïve girl even though her sister has been through a horrible event, she doesn't seem as experienced. She's strong in other ways and knows what she wants.
Gio is an MMA fighter bent on getting revenge on the death of his fiancé and their unborn baby. I should mention that Gio's dad is the head of a mafia family and therefore, Gio has mafia ties.
I think the fact they're sneaking around

On The Ropes is the first book I've read in the Tapped Out series, and I am asking myself why I waited so long to start them!!

Carly is a strong, kinda crazy, heroine, who knows exactly what (or who) she wants and isn't afraid to go for it. Gio is a hot alpha, who's trying to get over a tragic incident in his past.

The heat between these 2 is crazy. Gio tries to fight it, but can't hold out for long. I loved how close Carly's sister is to her, even if it is overbearing at times.

On the Ropes had me

This book was Carly and Gio's book. Their story has been building since they first met in book one of the series. It did not disappoint. Carly is a culinary student by day and dances in a strip club by night. Giovanni is the bad boy MMA fighter who is also the son of one of Las Vegas' biggest mobsters. He did not join the family crime family though. He went to work for their rival. Ever since his fiancée was gunned down, he's sworn revenge on her father, who he holds responsible for her death. ...more

I enjoyed this story. It was different. I had some mixed feelings here and there so it wasn't my favorite of Cari Quinn's, but it was still a great addition to the Tapped Out series. I liked seeing this other side of Carly, a more grown up version. I can't say I completely understand her thought process, which is what had me wavering a little bit, but setting that aside and focusing on her and Gio, I really enjoyed it. It was fun and different. I like that the MMA was part of this, as was a ...more

Gio and Carly are great together! Of course both are stubborn and believe they are doing what is best for everyone even though everyone else seems to disagree.

Gio has lived through a lot and finds it hard to trust or love anyone. Carly is overflowing with love for Gio and trying to make him see what she has to offer.

If you enjoy a great story about a fighter, fighting to succeed in love, this book is for you.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review of this book.

It took a while for me ending this book (and normally I finish books in one go). I quit reading after the first third.
Yesterday I decided I want to know how the story continued and I read the rest of the book. While I found some parts of the story disturbing and in my opinion Carly is a difficult person overall I enjoyed the story and especially appreciated to read about some of the other couples from the previous books.

Gio and Carly's story was HOT. The circumstances under which they come together are not easy and could easily break people down but they are able to move past it and instead grow closer together. They are interesting characters with depth and vulnerabilities. It makes the story more relatable. I couldn't put it down. I am jonesing for the next one!

Love this series. There are lots of topics discussed that could be triggers for some people. But there is also a lot of humor, hot sex, and even some romance. The books in this series are very hard to put down once you've started.

Best book of the Tapped Out Series. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a girly girl. I cried..... Not from sad parts but from the how sweet parts. Sappy? Yeah.

Sometimes writing what you know about can result in wonderful worlds and amazing stories.

Sometimes it can be, at best, laughably implausible, and, at worst, dangerously glorifying of awful things.
