This was a very well written, quick read. It makes the reader realize how sheltered our children are today. This is the story of a fourteen year old boy who goes up into the French Alps to cut grass for his family. He subsequently solves a mystery that occurred over the border in Italy. He had to use his head and think for himself. Things we don't allow our own children to do today. It is a refreshing book to read; as you feel you are in the book with the boy.
