Not all fae'ri tales come with a happy ending.

Ella thought taking care of the ego-bloated Mamood god would be a sure way to bring peace to the galaxy and satisfy her taste for revenge.

But she was wrong.

Despite the fact their god is gone, the Mamood refuse to abandon their attack on the planet Soltak and Ella's own so-called friends start to turn against her. And with Solta

This is mine, so of course I love it! :D
Disclosure: I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are 100% mine and unaffected by other parties.

I read Fae while in the passenger side of the car on the way to our family beach trip, and the three hours flew by without me realizing it,I was so riveted. Emily White writes a wicked tale, and even with warnings of "not all fae'ri tales come with happy endings", I still felt dejected, feeling poor Ella had been cheated out of the beautiful life she truly deserved, regardles
Ella continues the journey, on Soltak where we left her at the end of the first book Elemental, her journey of discovery as she battles against forces she struggles to understand.

Her memories are returning to her in small snippets, that lead her to make rash decisions, while the voice in her head spurs her along. She is fighting her insecurities, fighting a bond that she fears is one-sided in it's love. She is fighting to learn who she is not who The Destroyer is supposed to be.

Fae is book 2 of the Auri Wars, with book one being "Elemental." I would highly recommend reading book 1 first, as it sets the stage for a universe at war.

While the planet Soltak remains under threat of attack, Ella and Cailen have some breathing time to get re-acquainted as Ella's childhood memories slowly seep back into her mind. Throughout it all, I have to say, Cailen has the patience of a saint! He really shines in this book.

Still, coming from ten years of solitary confinement and bei
God, I was looking forward to this book. Elemental was one of my favorite reads in the past two or so years. It was a little slow at points, but the universe White created was incredible. It was interesting, it was well-built, and it had great depth. Elemental actually reminded me quite a bit of the first book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series, where the plot had to be slowed down to a crawl at times in order to fully absorb the reader into the world in which the story takes place. Ella was an ...more

My English review

It's been a while since I read Elemental, and admittedly, that did mean I had a little trouble keeping up with everything at first. There's a lot going on. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I'd read it immediately after Elemental, so I wouldn't have forgotten as much, and I would have found it easier to read if I hadn't been reading it in little intervals during break periods at work. Probably would have made some of the scenes seem less jumpy. But once the story got going, I was able to r ...more

Emily White is a nerd.

She prefers her men fully clothed and donning bowties, her commas British, her books cheesy with big, overly-dramatic explosions, her characters awkward and endearingly real,* and watching her movies in authentic turn-of-the-century theaters. When not exposing her nerdy self to the world, she's creating her own friends and putting them in horrible, yet sometimes humorous sit
