But you can’t un-write a sad story if the ending is literally written all over your face.

So I moved out and now I hide. I have a night job that pays the bills. Every night,...more

This book should have been titled " Everything but the kitchen sink"

I have no idea how to rate this book nor do I have the time to summarize everything that happened. It definitely had some caliente moments and it kept my attention, but....but.....

This is the first of a new erotic romance/suspense series about "a woman whose life changes after a mysterious murder, bringing an enigmatic man into her life who swears to protect her."

I was born into this world unwanted.

A chilling mystery where desire, deception, secrets and betrayal mix in a deadly combination that leaves you wanting more. I couldn’t get enough!

“The monsters we can’t see are the scariest ones of all.”

I was drawn in immediately. The language. The tone. The dark of night. Elements unite to set a sinister foundation for this story to unfurl. We met our protagonist, Alex, who leaves her house only during the shroud of night, donning a mask that prevents others from seeing her… inside and out. Des...more

I have no clue how to rate this book!

I don't even know what to say! It's like my mind is trying to unscramble what just happened, unsuccessfully. I seriously don't know what this whole book was about!

The writing and the tone was great.

Okay, I need to rant about this, sorry. I hate spoilers, but I have to! It's just too much for me to process. So DON'T READ THE FOLLOWING IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK!

I really enjoyed this first installment of the Unmasked Series. Lots of suspense and drama that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat.

First, you will meet Alex, a nineteen-year-old girl who hides from the world. She lives in a world of almost total darkness. She is one strong woman. And well-trained to look after herself. You would not want to cross her. But, to survive in this world, that is how she needs to be. Most of her life she has been hidden away by the people who should have...more

Wow! I didn't know what to expect going into this. I only read the first sentence of the synopsis. I love going in blind=)

Alex is a female you do not mess with. She was trained by her father for 14 years to defend herself.

Daimon, hmmmm I don't know what to say about Daimon. He created some very HOT moments in the book. I wanted to know WAY more about him. Hell I wanted to know more about Alex too! I am on to book 2 hoping for some more answers!!

I really don't know what to say. Did I love it? No. Did I hate it? No. It really didn't do much of anything. I wanted to love it. Loved the first few chapters but somewhere it just went off course. But it's not a waste of money or time. I'll read the next installment. So all in all 3 maybe 3.5 stars

An alluring and suspenseful tale…

Alex was dealt a raw hand in this life from the moment she was born. She’s been sheltered from the world by her parents, trained to survive by her father. But all things must change and so she went out on her own, sticking to the night hours and always masked from the world. Then one night she witnesses a murder and a man comes into her life, a man with secrets who will change everything.

Daimon Rousseau comes to the woman who hides in darkness with his own agenda...more

5 TOTALLY UNEXPECTED STARS!

"The monsters we can't see are the scariest ones of all. "

Everyone knows if I see "dark" anywhere near a book, I'm on that shit. I've read one book by Cassia Leo, so I was a bit skeptic about reading this one. Usually I say "it was dark but not dark enough for me." And in all seriousness that was the case here BUT that's fine because the story was out of the box FANFUCKINTASTIC! And still had that hint of darkness I love in my stories. Nothing like a strong badass fem...more

I'm honestly not really sure how I feel about this... I don't understand anything that just happened.... If the second book gives me answers I'll give this a better review but whoa bro... What the hell?

This book was a little weird. The little twist at the end I didn't see coming and I love that but somehow I just didn't connect with the whole story well.

This book was a mystery from the very first page until the very last.

“I spent the first eighteen years of my life with the parents who tried to shelter me from the harsh reality of my existence.”

The story follows Alex, a girl who doesn’t go out in the daylight due in part to a medical condition that leaves her skin discolored, as well being brought up in home where she was sheltered. She was trained to fight and take care of herself by he...more

I seriously, LOVED this!! I mean I love Cassia period but I think this is some of her best work!
In the beginning, I wasn’t too sure I was going to like it or not but after a few pages I was hooked. I hate reading shorts like this but I think it’ll definitely be worth the wait!

The twist at the end blew my mind, never saw that coming! Cant wait till 6/24 for the second! Bravo Cassia! 

Oh wow, this was an amazing read. I read it in one sitting, I could not put it down, no matter what.

Once you start reading, you will be hooked on this book, there is no doubt about it. It grabs you from the very first word and when you get to the end leaves you anxiously awaiting the next one.

It moved along at an amazing pace, has amazing characters and a fantastic story.

This is a must read, you will not be sorry. Can't wait for Volume 2.

OMG OMG...what an amazing and brilliant book!!! This one left me wanting MORE MORE MORE...why did it have to end??? So many unanswered questions and just so dark and sexy and quirky...I loved every tense and mysterious word of it.
Alex and Daimon...such chemistry and some of the most intense and sensual scenes I've read in a long time. I'm not going to rehash the story, just say that it is so cool and unique (this female fighting machine and the less than conventional police detective) you will b...more

I’ve never read any of Cassia Leo’s books. Yes, I know…late to the party again. After reading this series though I have to ask myself, why the hell haven’t I?

If you’re a fan of Tarantino or Film Noir in general, this is the series for you. Each volume is relatively short and the entire collection can be read in a lazy afternoon.

"The monsters we can't see are the scariest ones of all."

The best way to start a book is not knowing what it will be about. That is what I enjoyed the most about this one. I had no idea what it would be about. When I did find out I had a hard time deciding if I liked it or not. I still have no idea what to think about it. The thing is I can't point out parts that I did enjoy and those I didn't because it will ruin the story for you. However I will say this; the last 20% were crazy.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! This was just what i needed to continue my good book streak! I was in a rut for a while being disappointed with book after book. Then I saw this book being recommended by a friend, don't get me wrong I have read "Black box" which i loved from Ms. Leo, but I continued on my TBR list and it was not going to well. Then I came across Unmasked and I said "what the hell" and on-clicked this baby! Granted it was a small book compared to what I am use to but man the plot made it seem like...more

This was a spur-of-the-minute read, I came upon a raving review on Goodreads that instantly lured me to it. So I segued into reading Unmasked while in the middle of devouring a really nice book you’d hear from me next, and what a riveting story this has been. Brief, but will surely send you on the edge with its very unconventional plot, all in a span of an hour or two of reading it straight. And for someone who steered clear of books under this category, it’s surprisingly tolerable and not super...more

Ahh the ending left me with so many questions! Really the whole book had me asking so many questions!! I will definitely need to reread it to see if I can dig deeper!!! I haven't read a book in the recent weeks that as soon as I finished I wanted to immediately reread, this book did that to me and I will definitely be rereading. Right now the characters are mysteries to me. I don't feel like I have gotten a feel for who they are yet. The sex was hot and the mystery is even hotter. I am hoping Vo...more

UNMASKED (VOLUME 1) bY CASSIA LEO

This book is really unexpected. After Knox I was pretty sure that Cassia Leo will give us another surprising serial and she did. UNMASKED is full of mystery, passion and suspense and by the first page of the book, you will definitely be hooked. I have read the blur, of course but when I finally read the book I didn't expect it to be good and different from what was in my head before I read it. Definitely new and different from her previous works, Cassia Leo prove...more

Man, did I love the premise of this story! Nothing like a kick-ass heroine with a bit of a chip on her shoulder. I read this book in one sitting because it was just that good.

Alex is a mystery, although we learn a lot about her, Daimon is a mystery as well, but we are left with questions about him. These two creatures of the night find each other in the worst of ways, however feel some sort of connection.

Alex has had a sad childhood and longs for somebody to love and touch her like a normal per...more

Oh, boy. What the heck did I just read!? I almost quit it at first because I couldn't make any sense with this book. I don't know what was wrong with Alex appearance until Daimon started to showed up. And like Alex, I was hooked and wait for him to come. The way the author wrote it I felt I like I was the one who was in the dark. The ending was jaw dropping. Was she seriously did that? The writing style was dragged at some point. The way Alex tended her wound with details; I didn't need to know...more
