I read Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz it was the best book I have ever read. Alex Rider is a 14 year old spy and he just wants to be a normal kid after his last mission with Scropia he just wants to go back to school and does not want to be what every kid dreams about until he finds out that he is working with his godfather Ash. But this time he is working with the ASIS or Australian secret service but he can't wait to meet his godfather but at the end of the book he finds out something devastat...more

"Snakehead" was better than I expected. Anthony Horowitz made this book a lot more informative (in the way of Alex's family's past) and with lots of new plot twists. he's gotten kinda redundant in some of his books...

what it's about: Alex Rider is recruited by the Australian intelligence agency to go undercover as an Afghan refugee to find out about a "snakehead" (a network of immigrant smugglers) which is connected to Scorpia, Alex's biggest enemy.
along the way he gets information about his par...more

I thought that Snakehead is a very good book. I’m not done reading it yet but I’m pretty close. I would like to read more books by this author. This is one of the bigger books that I have read in my life.

My favorite character is Alex Rider, he is a secret agent trying to figure out who killed his dad. He goes on a mission to get to an island where he heard somebody important is hiding there. He takes a kayak and paddles down a river to go find the island.
My favorite part is when he is paddling...more

The authors purpose in writing the book is to entertain the reader. The author entertained the reader by using descriptive words and keeping the storyline with action. The impact the book has on its audience is that the book is thrilling and creative. The author tells the story in a way that leaves the audience curious. The author also makes the story fascinating.

The book is well written. The author tells the story in a way where you can imagine what's happening. For example "the ferry came gri...more

I thought that this book was a great way to end the seven book series. We as the readers were finally able to learn more about Alex’s parents. The sixth book Ark Angel didn’t really fit into this book as much as some of the other books. Alex is figuring out in the beginning of the book that once you’re in the spy business it’s hard to get out of it especially if it’s in your blood. Alex has been training for this his entire life even though he may have not known he was training. I think that thi...more

I feel slightly ridiculous writing a review of a slightly serious spy book to Nyan Cat. (Slightly serious as in not Charlie-the-Unicorn-esque.)

But on to Snakehead. This was, ah, a fairly okay book.

Fine, I admit it. I can feel no great love for Alex Rider, and skipping a book is rather difficult. I mean, uh, I got that in Ark Angel Rider went to this space hotel thingy on request of the CIA and blew it up. So keep in mind that I am not favorably disposed towards this book. But I don't hate it e...more

Snakehead
By Anthony Horowitz
Book Review
“Beaten and scared Alex used one of the exploding coins he had gotten from MI6 to try and escape the dark and dreary crate that held up to thirty people.” This is just one of the many exciting things that happen in the book Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz. It is a very exciting and a good book. It is realistic fiction and great for all ages. I think Horowitz makes the characters and the setting seem very realistic.
Born April 5, 1956, Anthony Horowitz is a 55...more

my name is carlrevious and the book snakehead is a very good book. when alex had fell into the ocean that was funny to me because he was confused and lost. he did not know who he was or where he was because he could not breath because his kness was pressed into his chessed causeing him to lose his feelings in all of his muscels.when they found him he could not walk.while he was inside of the pod he was experiencing a moment of stillness.he was picked up by the people on the uss kitty hawk. my fa...more

This seventh book in the Alex Rider lives up to the hype. THis book has to be the most action packed and suspensful one on the series. Last time, Alex took out a space hotel set up by an evil man. Now, he is going on a information gathering mission with someone who he technically doesn't even know. only when Alex finds out that the spy accompanying him is his very own godfather does he agree to go on this mission: for the sole purpose of finding out more about his parents.....

As usual, there is...more

It was nice to get some more information about Alex's parents in this story. In that sense this book seemed like a more fitting follow up to Scorpia than Ark Angel did. Alex continues to grow and mature as a character, and he is beginning to face the reality that, as much as he may be trying to get out of the spy business, he might not be able to help it. Maybe it is just his fate to be an agent. In past stories he has often been more or less compelled to accept an assignment, but this time his...more

Oh I did enjoy this one! Twisty and complicated and I think the danger is getting more mature (i.e. human trafficking versus the more abstract blowing up computers from far away). The plots are more complicated and there are more dangerous events throughout the story -- in the same way that the Harry Potter series builds and gets more complex as the series progresses, so too does Alex Rider get into some more daring and dangerous predicaments!

There was a moment or two where I was a little sadden...more

Snakehead is the best best best Alex Rider i've read so far.
The characters aren't artificial and their past are explored. The story line is not as tiring to follow like how alex rider books are, and alex is not jumping from one place to another. There are some unexpected stuff (as well as the usual expected stuff that you can ignore).
The best thing is that Alex is travelling from Australia to Bangkok and even to Indonesia. It's really interesting that Anthony could describe these places vividly,...more

I thought this was a very good, adventurous book. People who enjoy action and adventure thrillers will love this book.I think it is important to read the other books in the series first, because especially for this particular book, it talks about issues in the past books. I think a theme could be not giving up. Alex goes through a lot but he never gives up. He gets betrayed, he gets tortured, he gets used, and yet he never gives up. He could have said no and turned back at many points. But he st...more

I found Snakehead to be quite good!

I gave it three stars because it's not my favourite Alex Rider book so far and the storyline kind of disappointed me. I mean, the general structure of each Alex Rider book is the same so far. He makes it out of a mission, soon after, he finds himself in another one where he is almost killed many times, the main evil mastermind captures him and tells Alex his plans, Alex makes a witty response, and then he swears not to do another mission again, rinse and repea...more

The Alex Rider series is one of those series that you can count on every book blowing your mind. Snakehead had all the elements that contribute in making a great spy/adventure novel: shocking twists, scary scenes, awesome gadgets and very prominent bad guys are some of the many things which made it so good. I don't know how Anthony Horowitz does it, but he manages to make reading his books a nail-biting (yet very entertaining) experience for readers. I've found that there is a kind of "template"...more

This book is very interesting from the start to the end. It first starts off with an agent, Alex, who gets dropped off at a military base. He is briefed about taking down a terrorist organization in northern Australia. He goes through many missions, and also finds a few things about himself. He meets his uncle for the first time, battles through many obstacles, and least of all defeats the organization before they can kill many people. Culturally, the book is set in northern Australia, so the wa...more

I don't know if its just me but i really dislike this book because it is unrealistic and child's play, i like the more detailed books and realistic ones, like the author sharon draper, or lemony snicket.

I can't connect this book to any other books because other book are good abd this one sucked, i don't like the fact that it is a teenage spy how many times have i read a book like that before, a other book named alof kropp is like this so i guess i can connetr it to something because both book...more

I'm impressed by the number of secret services Alex is getting himself involved in by this book. It was fascinating, getting somewhere outside of England and the occasional visit to America. Also, still a little skeptical by how fast Alex is stuck into a new mission with almost zero recovery time. It was not that long ago he was sniped in the chest, guys! Not to mention this all has to be so emotionally draining, even if he doesn't seem (yet) to be the most emotional guy.
I... this book. Had a tw...more

Snakehead! One of my favorites out of the series! I feel so fortunate to own it!
Once again, Alex is put to the test and he certainly passed with flying colors! He was so clever, but that is no surprise(I mean honestly, who knew before reading the part where it is mentioned that Ash was Alex's godfather? And even more, the murderer of his parents???).
Ash is so...self centered(kind of)! He first ruins Alex's life by killing his parents(And, of course, he ruined John and Helen's lives, not just Ale...more

Snakehead was a good book, it went on from the book before it in the Alex Rider series, Ark Angel. It was also based in Australia which meant I knew where the olcations were, for example I know where Dampier is and Darwin. This made it easier to read and I had more feelings about these places. The ending is amazing, totally unpredictable and exciting; I read the last 100 pages in 1 hour sraight!

But the ending had a few floors. When it said that Ash was Alex's godfather, it felt like he had fina...more

Has a spoiler!!

It is about Alex when he lands on the Australian beach. He is taken to the ASIS Also known as the Australian Secret Intelligence Service and gets mixed up with the Snakehead and their leader, Major Yu. Alex makes "friends" with his godfather called Ash which was his father's best friend. Later, Alex is taken away from Ash and taken to Major Yu where he is contained and almost killed several times. He finds out that Yu is trying to detonate a bomb called Royal Blue. It is placed u...more

Snakehead is another one of Horowitz's many thrilling stories. It starts out when Alex lands off the coast of Australia. He is rescued by the ASIS, who are at the same time attempting to infiltrate a Snakehead criminal organization in Indonesia. After looking at Alex's past, they decide to send Alex into the field...
Thrilling is a word that pretty much sums up the whole story, for instance, when Alex jumps ship to escape the wrath of Major Yu. Another thrilling moment is when Alex outsmarts an e...more

Actually listened to this "book on CD" .. an okay young adult novel, if not a little bit predictable. Good pace of action, okay dialogue. Plot and charactor development could have used a little work, but I did jump into the middle of a series, so the character part is a little understandable for the main, but not the supporting cast. My comment on that, I just wasn't engaged enough to really care that much about the charactors.

Young Alex Rider is an average teenager, except he also happens to be...more

Alex Rider: Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz was published in 2008. It is 388 pages long. The intended audience for this book is young adults. In this seventh book of the Alex Rider series, Alex must stop an evil organization from setting off a natural disaster that is going to plant a bomb under a tectonic plate.
This story is set in Great Britain and also in places in Australia. It is set in modern times and Alex uses modern spy type gadgets. The book starts in Australia because that is where Ale...more
