3.5 Stars. Well, the first line hooked me:
"Be sure he drinks the wine before he gets your clothes off."
It's the summer of 1357, and though Scotland is officially under English rule, the English lords are still having trouble bringing their subjects to heel. Lady Reyna Graham's home, Black Lyne Keep, is under siege, and Reyna, a young widow stuck inside with people who believe she murdered her much older husband, is desperate to get out. She's concocted a plan to assa More...

This was my second.. maybe third romance novel i had ever read in my entire life the first was Return Engagement, the second was Blow Me Down and this was the third.
I must say, all romance novels are the same and the third time was hell. (After this I read the Chalice and the Blade and i don't even know how i finished that one).
It makes very mad that the girls in most novels can't do anything and just depend and "cling" to their extremely good looking, handsome More...

MH can be a hit or miss for me, but this one was a hit and I thought well wrote. It was fun story and I thought that the h/h made a perfect couple. The only fly in the ointment was that the ending was too fast....but isn't it always.

I liked Ian and Reyna's story yet wasn't as mezmorized by their tale as I usually am by MH remarkable writing talet. It was a good solid historical read

This book improved upon second reading several months after the initial purchase, and so I have bumped it up from two to three stars. It was the second book I read in the Medieval series, and it is advantageous to have read the others first. That said, I feel it suffers from a) a wretched title and forced refrain thereof and 2) a pair of leads who are alternately blindly dense and then suddenly magically insightful (the dude particularly). He seems to just guess right more often than I believe h

Gostei.

Really a 3.5 for me. I got sort of lost and confused and bored with the other plot stuff going on. Otherwise the romance was nice between Reyna and Ian.

Lady Reyna disguises herself as a courtesan in order to kill Ian, an invader trying to claim her castle.
Strange at times, but an OK read.

I felt this started a bit slower than others of Hunter's that I've read, but once it picked up, I really enjoyed it!

There were some parts of this book that were so goofy, but it really made me laugh.
