Loving Lady Lazuli is a January 2014 Etopia publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Goddess Fish Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Ten years ago, the sixteen year Sapphire, the most notorious jewel thief in England, escapes and leaves Lord Hawley holding the bag, so to speak. It ruined his life. Estranged from his family for these ten years, he has finally come home. Now he intends to take hold of what is rightfully his and will take great pleasure in kicki

Loving Lady Lazuli is a tense, character driven historical romance which gives the reader a unique perspective on life and love in Regency England. The power of society and its harshness when crossed is implicit from the first chapter. Lord Devorlane Hawley returns to his ancestral ten years after he left in disgrace. Now the unexpected fifth Duke of Chessington he wants revenge for his ten years of exile where severe mistreatmen

Cassidy Armstrong, aka Sapphire, the most notorious jewel thief in London, has stolen more than baubles. She stole the Wentworth emeralds, but their theft was blamed on Lord Devorlane Hawley.

Sent away to the military, Devorlane returns ten years later, bent on revenge on the woman who stole his past, and his heart. Luckily for him, it turns out she is right next door.

Sapphire has led a hard life, forced into thievery to support her brother, but she’ll never let her scars – physical or emotiona

First of all - the book may involve jewels but it aint pretty!

Don't expect a tidy, pretty historical world, this one isn't afraid to live in the dark, and our hero is damaged - not only has he just been released from prison - he has a problem with opium and drink and isn't afraid of his dark side. Our heroine, similarly, is no simpering miss and does what she can to survive. Digging, with trowels, yes...no spoilers on that one.

Even the houses they live in are cobwebbed filled dark spaces with te

I really enjoy stories where the heroine has a wicked background and the hero too. That leads to so many interesting ways the story can work itself out; so many interesting ways for the characters to redeem themselves or not; so interesting, period. Which is exactly what Shehanne Moore has created with Loving Lady Lazuli--an interesting story so full of potential and one that doesn’t disappoint.

Page three puts our main characters—Devorlane Hawley and Sapphire—in a forced encounter, which we quic

This is my first read for Shehanne Moore's work and I got to say I very much enjoyed it.

Cassidy is now a respectable lady, masquerading as a widow and living in the country far away from her past in the big city. Ten years ago she was right here too in the country but known as the infamous thief, Sapphire. Only having been a child of 16 and a master at thieving the riches of their jewels, she has ever only did one mistake: stashing the Wentworth emeralds with

This book is a historical romance, but it has some very unique and modern elements to the story. Sapphire, now known as Cassidy Armstrong, once stole jewelry and planted it on a young Lord Devorlane Hawley. Her impulsive action causes Lord Hawley to be thrust out of his home, and he has vowed to get revenge on the beautiful jewel thief if their paths ever cross again.

Lord Devorlane Hawley returns home and finds that he has no need to search for the jewel thief that destroyed his reputation and r

Shehanne Moore has done it again. Cassidy Armstrong is her ballsiest heroine yet. At 27, she has already managed to accumulate a past it would take most women two lifetimes to accumulate. With her Starkadder sisterhood of reformed (ahem!) jewel thieves, this woman, of more than one identity, possesses more layers than an apfel strudel. Just as you think you’ve found out all her secrets, along comes another one to keep you guessing and turning the pages.

Add to that a drop dead gorgeous Duke and t

Shehanne Moore is a Scottish author, who writes gritty, witty, as much risky as risqué, historical romance, set wherever takes her fancy. Stories that detail the best and worst of human behaviour, as opposed to pouts and flounces. For years she worked at various things, while pursuing her dream of becoming a published writer, so she was gobsmacked to sell her book, The Unraveling of Lady Fury, ...more
