This starts promisingly, with the world's population of 500 years in the future fleeing to the present. How can the present day world support them? The novel soon degenerates into endless dialogues. There are many characters and none of them are developed. Simak wrote this novel in 1974 but, except for some references to young protesters, it seems straight from the 1950's. I can't recommend this one.

Este es el primer libro de este autor que cae en mis manos.

Sin duda, los personajes están construidos de manera floja, ninguno tiene personalidad y parece que le daba flojera al autor dotarlos de más características. El fotógrafo y el presidente parecían el mismo personaje con dos nombres diferentes.

Un libro para leer entre obras de ópera espacial o ciencia ficción dura.

A good read but I felt like it fell apart a bit in the end. The business with the monsters was resolved too quickly, after building them up as these unbeatable killing machines. Interesting ideas though.

This was a good science fiction book with lots of untapped potential. I liked the interactions between the people from the future and the ones in the present. At the end, however, I found myself wondering what happens next and being a little disappointed that there were so many unanswered questions.
