Here be testosterone-laced tales of carny folk, thrill riders, gator wrestlers and pugilists.

He heard his dogs already breaking sticks, scrimmaging with a mystery beast around a bend in the path, and hoped that maybe it was just another beaver. Shelves: stopped-reading
Just not my cup of tea, I guess. The first few stories were not very interesting to me and I didn't get the point of reading them, so I just quit.

From the High Country News Fall 2014 reading list ... I dunno, couldn't relate to the carnival/circus culture, or the dialog, or ??? Just gave up and went on the the next book on my list.
