Actually, my version of Santa's Beard (1974) is less soft and warm and more dingy and ratty. It's been well loved. The scratch-and-sniff pine tree has lost its fragrance, Santa no longer has any snap in his suspenders, and the Christmas card is missing. But the fuzzy bear is still fuzzy and the puppy is still happily hiding in his basket. Little ones love this book.

According to the note in the front of the book, I got this for Christmas in 1980. I am happy to report that Santa's beard is still soft and warm. Even more impressive, the scratch-and-sniff pine trees still smell like scratch-and-sniff pine trees.
