A young boy is sick at home when he has a vivid dream brought on by a fever. In the dream, the boy looks out his window and sees a beautiful river flowing where his street should be. He walks outside, finds a boat, and sails down the river where his Uncle Scott is waiting for him, with fly-fishing pole in hand. The story culminates in the boy catching a fish, but deciding to release it after Uncle Scott urges him to leave the river as they found it.

A sick child recieves a box of fishing lures from his uncle. He's only been fishing once and didn't catch anything. His neighborhood turn into a river and he meets up with his uncle and goes fishing. One of my favorites- Allen Say is a wonder for his weave of illustration and story, choice of words, what he chooses to say, what to show and how. This is a must have treasure for parents who love to read aloud to their kids.

Nice story about a boy who dreams of a fishing trip with his uncle, where he catches a rainbow trout, but puts it back in the river. If I were more into fishing, I'd probably give this 4 or 5 stars. The pictures are really nice.

Probably my favorite illustrations from Allen Say. I never get tired of looking at the world he has created, dreamy and magical.

Once again I am satisfied with Say's blending of the dream or fever world together with hopes and everyday life.

An imaginative tale about a boy and his uncle's mystical fishing trip. At the end my son asked "was that real?"

I did not really enjoy this book however this book might be interesting to a child that enjoys fishing.
