A most lovely and poetic story about Carlo Diamante who keeps seeing a mysterious girl and wants to meet her. Once he does, he falls in love with her but she keeps disappearing. Once he learns her name is Emilene Espinosa he decides to take a trip to Bolivia and look for her in her home town. She had told him that the only way to reach her village is through a treacherous mountain pass called The Death Road. Once he arrives, he learns that there are more modern roads than what she had mentioned. ...more

I found myself surprised over and over again as I listened to the book. Carlo is the main character we follow through out most of the book. He really starts out a normal sweet guy that is trying to help his sister. He falls in love with a mysterious woman he feels has to try to spend more time with her if he can find her again. Her name is Emilene from Bolivia. So he takes a trip to Bolivia to find her and try to find out if she is the one. What he really finds is her family. Namely her father ...more

I was given a free copy of this and Glisten of the Ngirozi by the author for an honest review....I have listened to both...and although I like Glisten best, this book is a great love story with an interesting twist...Carlo is a good man, and is basically set on a path to help others by Emiline who is a beautiful spirit girl....It made my heart happy, and it will yours too! Well worth a listen...and it is one I will think about for quite some time!
