I take this with me fairly often if I go out for a hike or fishing trip. It helps me to identify some species of turtles, frogs, and lizards which is pretty fun. I don't mess with snakes. It is not exactly a complete guide however for what species the book doesn't list it makes up for in giving you details about reptiles and amphibians in general.

I'm really surprised how ALL the kids that come to my house pick up this book and get absorbed in the pictures and descriptions. Nice guide to have around the house while learning about reptiles. I'm noting a really fabulous reptile movie here so I don't forget about it: Life in Cold Blood (BBC nature documentary series written and presented by David Attenborough)

Good pictures & trivia but by no means complete. No Grand Cayman Blue Iguanas, no Pacific Northwest Tree Frog...
