amusing stuff and a lot of wonderful tales of the music world through the ages
Al is a man with a lot of humor and his contributions to music are greater than you might think

I had never heard of Al Kooper before I picked up this book, but apparently he was a pretty big deal in the sixties and seventies. He was in the Blues Project, formed Blood, Sweat & Tears, and played and toured with Bob Dylan for years. This is akin to VH1's Behind the Music- a guilty pleasure, but thoroughly entertaining. And Kooper is not a bad writer either.

There are a lot of fascinating facts in this book - like how Al wormed his way into the studio to play on "Like A Rolling Stone" and how he played slightly behind Dylan (because he didn't know the song) to create his iconic organ run. But boy is he bitter. Given some of his experiences, I can see why. But boy is he bitter.
