Helpful guide to understanding the Civil War battles--particularly I visited some of them. The photos are bit large, making the print awfully small and hard to read. Could have used some more diagrams to better map out the movements of troops during the battles. Nice integration of real photos, illustrations and pictures of artifacts from the war. Part of a set of three books by Davis.

The book is part of the Rebels and Yankees Series published by Salamander in the early 1990's. As a series the books served as wonderful primers on the American Civil War. The added bonus for me was prints of various units.
