Imagine a group of female Muslim anthropologists writing a collection of essays on Scandinavian women. A little less than 200 pages on Finnish saunas, how women socialize in bars to pick up men, the debate over whether nudity is an act of agency or subordination to capitalism, modernism, neo-liberalism or any other -ism, the patriarchal hierarchy of Catholic churches...etc. If that book ever existed, Karin Ask's book would be its equivalent.
