This is my second Candy Halliday book and this one made me laugh as much as the first one. She has a humorous writing style that is entertaining and keeps you moving through the story. Some of the storyline seemed a little off to me--the "Joe Video" game? I'm not really sure about how it would work out to be a real-life video game, but it could work out as some other type of concept. Loved it! I haven't read a contemporary romance in a while, and certainly not a contemporary chick-lit type. This one was definitely a winner. At first, I thought, "Ugh, video games. So not my style," but it wasn't ABOUT video games. Duh. I should have known that romances are always about the romance! I fell in love with the characters as they fell in love with each other, and I thoroughly enjoyed the modern spins on everything from descriptions to point of view to dialogue. Great, fun

At times a little silly and cliched, but likeable characters and enough original humour that I'd definitely try another title by this author.

bad. bad bad bad. The characters are stale, the erotic scenes are turgid, and I don't mean that in a good way. The "Joe Video" premise was promising but never took off. This book could have used some STDs or something. Sigh.
