When you have to give up gluten, either for yourself or a family member, you may think you have to say good-bye to all of the comforting foods you love. It's hard enough adopting a new way of eating, but the idea of giving up your favorite fried chicken, mac 'n' cheese, or oatmeal raisin cookies is downright unfair and intimidating (and if your kids are the ones diagnosed, ...more

I’ve always felt I had a tolerance to gluten, I was never diagnosed. It took me a while to even understand the difference between gluten intolerance and actual Celiac Disease. Although I knew it could be genetic, I was surprised that between two sisters (the

The title says it all! I found this cookbook to be such an inspiration in the kitchen, and really kicked me into gear with cooking gluten-free dishes that were flavorful, and bold when it comes to my particular cooking style. I would always keep is simple, or make what I was used to, just omitting out the gluten in the recipe. After finding a few recipes that I wanted to try, and cooking them for my family, I realized th

What a fabulous cook book. Everyone, whatever diet they follow should be allowed to eat attractive, flavoursome food. Sisters, Jessie and Jilly Lagasse, have had to alter their diets due to health reasons. This book they have written is full of gluten-free recipes for starters, mains, sides and desserts from the likes of Warm Apple and Brie Tartlets to Perfect Blueberry Muffins to Jilly's Ginger Sesame Pork Stir Fry to Chocolate Raspberry Layer Cake with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. The ...more

The naturally gluten free recipes in this book look absolutely delicious. It contains a good number of comfort foods that you miss when you go gluten free.

I was disappointed that the recipes that included gluten free flours used a specific store bought brand of gluten free flour blend rather than using individual flours. Having baked gluten free for many years, I know that using a different flour blend than specified can result in a less than desirable final product. I admit that I expected the

I like that this cookbook, as they state, uses ingredients that you can actually find in the grocery store like Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free All Purpose Baking Mix. The recipes are well written and look yummy, but many of them seem very labor intensive. This is gluten free gourmet cooking. And if that is what you are looking for, you will enjoy the recipes in this cookbook. I received this book free to review from Netgalley.

I've been looking for a book like this for ages. One of my friends needs to eat gluten free and I needed some inspiration to plan nice meals for her rather than always resorting to shop bought snack type meals.

I love the lists of things to use and some of the meal ideas are definately joining our '52 new recipe' challenge this year. I will have a lovely source to choose new ideas from.

I think I'm going to get her a copy of this book aswell.

I received a copy of this cookbook on netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have a family member that I recently learned is allergic to gluten and I had no idea what I could make for her. This cookbook gives me tons of recipes that I know that not only will she enjoy them but maybe my developmentally delayed child would benefit from.
Thank you so much to the authors for making cooking gluten free easy and actually fun!!!
I will be looking for further cookbooks!!!

Simply delicious.

The tiramisu recipe sounds like heaven. I can't wait to try it out. The cinnamon rolls look the closest to regular ones that I have seen. I can't decide what recipe to try first I want to make them all.

Four stars for easy reading and no-nonsense recipes. Will review again when I can make the recipes! Love the introduction - fast and accurate description of Celiac disease and gluten intolerance. Funny how one sister has CD and the other does not! I will probably purchase.

This book was lazy. I didn't find one recipe that inspired me. It contained nothing new and even had their dad's spices in the recipes. blah! It had basic ameican recipes but changed flour to gluten free. boring

To me this book felt like average run-of-the-mill food. I think it would be great for someone who is transitioning from a typical American diet to a gluten-free way of eating.
