Supernatural detective Jack Nightingale is called in to investigate a case of stigmata. A young girl is bleeding from her hands and feet and claims to be talking to the Virgin Mary. But Nightingale soon realises that all is not as it seems - and the girl is in mortal danger.

Would have been a five star but disappointed with contiuity issues. In all the other books Jack Nightingale drinks Corona in a bottle with a slice of lime. This time when he goes for a drink with jenny it is a german beer. It is only when he meets the young girls uncle when he is introduced to Corona and his signature trick of pushing in the slice of lime, thumb over the top, tip up until lime reachs the bottom of the bottle. Sloppy writing there.

My only real issue with this story was that it was sooo short. I flew through it in a heartbeat. No sooner than I'd gotten into the groove that is Jack Nightingale...then BAM. I'm reading the words 'the end'. Yeah I know in the title it says, clear as day, a Jack Nightingale short story. I just felt it could have easily been a lot more than just a short story.
