This story picks up a few years from where the first volume left off, and we can immediately see what a negative influence living with the Shadow Master has had on the two brothers during that time. I don’t want to go into any specifics of the plot so as to avoid spoilers, but will say that I am of mixed opinion about this second volume. This still fits into the fantasy genre, rather than being classified as horror, but there’s a LOT of horrific content during the first two-thirds of the story. ...more

(Imagine this line in full valley girl glory:) Uh. Full throes of passion, not "throws." Sheesh.

So, here's my hierarchy of character information needs:
1) Vik
2) Marun
3) Kehfrey

The rest of them can all burn for all I care.

Actually, I like this book. I don't care about any of the other characters - apparently for good reason, as this book shows - so it all works out.

I still don't quite get Marun. Or all his peeps. I mean, what is up with all that?

Anyways, I think I may actually p

The hero's epic journey continues... Kehfrey and his brother find themselves fully entangled in the dark sorcerer's clutches and embroiled in a plot that spans kingdoms.

I can't really review this to the extent I'd like without giving away any spoilers, but I can assure anyone reading this that volume two carries on from volume one without missing a step. Kehfrey and Vik are a little older, a little more jaded and even more determined. This is a tale of twisted romance, adventure and deeply tangl

Seven years since we left Kehfrey we rejoin him to find that he has finally succumbed to the sorcerer's advances, and is actually enjoying the results. It seems as his lover he might even mollify the sorcerer's evil intent, but Kehfrey's gay brother Vik (the sorcerer Marun's now cast aside lover) is looking out for his little brother and determined to get him away from the possessive Marun.

Political intrigue and an attempt to depose the king have Marun and Kehfey occupied in searching out and pu

I have read every single book of this series and I LOVE THEM ALL!. I can not wait for the next one to come out. I will warn readers that it does have gay (male on male) sexual content in every story so if this is something that offends or is morally unacceptable then DO NOT read this series, but if you are like me and what you are looking for is a great storyline a fabulous lead character then this series is the series for you. Every book continues on the story, but each book can stand alone as ...more

While I enjoyed the first book parts of it made me very uncomfortable. However, the second book was much, much better. Looking forward to seeing where the third book goes.

I am an anglophone writer in Quebec province, Canada. I like to write epic fantasy with romantic elements and particularly enjoy stories of relationships between men, though this is not my only reading interest. My published stories often have glbtq content. I do not write in the m/m genre. Many of my novels include female characters who may be involved with main characters.
